Hit the wall around 23. There were a bunch of volunteers/supporters out with water, Gatorade, and Gu to help you get to the finish. That really helped. Just gotta suck it up and push through the pain.

I ran my first 26.2 last month. Both of my legs cramped up at mile 16. It was hellacious after that. I was fully trained, but there were some external factors leading to the cramping, so YMMV.

My longest training run has been 20 miles, and while I was able to do it, I was hurting at the end. So that extra 10k is going to really test me. I probably had a good 2-3 miles in me before hitting any wall, though.

My longest training run was 20 miles and I nailed it. I had several runs longer than 16 miles with no problems whatsoever.
No excuses, but I would note I barely slept the night before the 26.2.

I worry about this as well... I got no sleep the night before my first ever half. I have a hard time sleeping when:
1. I have to get up early(before 6am)
2. I am excited or anxious about something the next day. I could never sleep on Christmas Eve when I was a kid...
I am thinking about taking a couple Tylenol PM or something the night before.

There were definitely some race-related nerves for me the night before. However, I did everything right. I ate fish and pasta, drank 2 beers, chugged gallons of water (which is normal for me), and got in bed at 9. The problem is I was sleeping at a buddy's house, and I never sleep well my first night anywhere. I have about one night every couple of weeks where I just don't sleep well and there is usually no reason for the problem. I guess it was just my time. I'm not exaggerating though, fellas, I slept maybe 3 hours the night before my race.
I knew I was in trouble when I woke up the next morning and I could not get my HR down below 100 when we were on our way to the race.
Tylenol PM would make me groggy AF.
I am going to run two 10Ks in April. One is going to be flat, and the other very hilly. I hope to best my 10K record of 50:02 on the flat course.

Anyone planning on running the Crescent City Classic? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to run the St Patrick's day 2 mile to get in a seeded corral. I've only run the classic once and it was unseeded, so the entire first mile was weaving between charity runners and walkers

CCC10k seeding - unless you can "qualify" for A (pro / elite) or B seed it won't matter. Even in the B group you'll end up doing some weaving.
2022 St Patrick’s Day Classic 2-Mile Run Qualifying Times for CCC10k
Brown/A Seeded Corral: under 10:50 min (35:00 10k)
Pink/B Seeded Corral: 10:51-12:25 min

You can use any recent race for seeding

Ran 20 for the first time over the weekend, prepping for the MS50K 3/5.
Taking a different approach and just trying to survive it rather than shooting for any times. 15-15.5 felt like hell and then all of a sudden everything was easy again and rolled into the last 4.5 with gas in the tank.
Probably under prepared, but starting my taper now. We'll see how it goes.

longshot, but are any of you running the Mt Cheaha (AL) 50k this weekend?

That sounds brutal.

Has anyone done the Bayou City Classic in Houston before?
I'll be there for the Shriner's Classic event at Minute Maid and considering running the 10K.

Worst run in a while tonight. Just an easy 5 miler. Lungs decided to stay home however. No bounce in legs. Lower legs still throbbing.
According to the internet I either have 3 days to live or I have calf strains in both my legs.

Never ran it but looks like a typical run from City Hall down Allen Parkway and back. It's the same day as the Woodlands Marathon so turnout may be low.

Yeah I feel you. My Achilles has been acting up since Friday. Short runs Saturday & today but I can still feel something not right. 2.5 weeks out from marathon. Not ideal.

If my final 2 mile training run this morning was any indicator I'm going to do fine for my marathon tomorrow

Did a trail race today. At mile 20 or so there was a -15% grade descent for a mile. My poor fricking legs at that point lol

As I predicted I got zero sleep. Going to be running this marathon on zero seconds of sleep. Great

So did you fall asleep mid race?
talk about cliff hanger.
hope your race went well and you can share a few positive/ negatives from training plan and race day based on first marathon experience.
