Race report from the MS 50k.
Went in woefully under prepared and over confident.
Got humbled.
Made it across the finish.
Great race overall. Fantastic team on setup and at aid stations. Course was muddy as hell(and allegedly this was a dry year). Weather turned hot and all my long runs were on the coldest days we had which is arguably what did me in more than anything.

To avoid a overly long post, any of yall have any experience with running with a history of Afib? If you do, what kind of duration / distance do you run?

I ran a 5k at 6:35/mile on maybe 15 to 20 mpw.

I didn’t want to start a whole thread on this but wondering if anyones had this issue.
My knee gets weak after about a mile. I’m pretty sure it’s a tendon. It’s not really painful but I definitely start to feel it at around 1/2 mile. I can keep running but eventually it starts to buckle on me.
The first time it happened I took a week off and it still happened later. This last time I took over a month off and still happened. Any idea what’s going on?
It’s on the outside part of the knee.

Completed my first marathon this morning. Goal was 3:30:00 and I finished in 3:28:10. What an experience. It was T he most physically challenging thing I’ve ever done and quite a mental battle down the stretch too. As I’ve often heard, around mile 18, it got pretty tough for me. I have a newfound appreciation for all of you guys who regularly run these as well as the ultra guys. Y’all are beasts.

It feels like the outside part of the kneecap about mid way up.

Congrats WWJr!
When's the next marathon?

Thanks man! I’ll start to think about that when my legs work again

Oyster can’t help you .. if it was lower sort of in the “dimple” when you bend your knee I’d have suggested meniscus.

That first 12 hours after completing my marathon I told myself that was dumb and I'd never do that again. By the next day I was already thinking about plans for the next one. Still haven't done it yet but this year could be the one.

First off congrats!
Your legs start working sooner after than you think. I'm a week out from my 50k that made me swear never more than a half marathon again and as of Wednesday I'm itching to put something else on the calendar

Congrats WWJr! You nailed it!
4 at a good pace this morning (7:46). I have two 10Ks in April: a flat one where I want to beat 50 minutes, and a hilly one I just want to enjoy.
I am focusing on biking for the time being though. I just wanted to pop by and say hello to tRunBros.

Good shite! Sub 17 next?
I've been slowly and steadily building mileage trying to avoid an injury. Only up to about 15mpw with 1 fartlek being the only non easy pace. I can feel a little irritation where my IT band meets the knee but it's not pain, per se. I'm planning on being closer to 25mpw by the time the CCC gets here.

Sub 17 sounds awful, 5K distance hurts so bad

I had hip replacement surgery in May and slowly but surely working my way to running again. Today, I ran 6.2 miles (the longest I've ran in quite a while) at an average pace of 9:13 per mile. I know that's not as fast as some of you can run but I think it's pretty good for me at this moment! I'm really trying to get my pace to less than 9 which I've done once but want to do it on the regular! :)
