I have personal viewpoints. They shouldn't have to be labeled either liberal or conservative. Every issue isn't black and white. You can't put people into only two categories. People are more complex than that. Until we stop labeling people and and ideas as strictly conservative/liberal we won't evolve past the broken party system that has pitted us all against each other. With that being said, I'd say about 70% of my views would traditionally be labeled as conservative and the other 30% would be traditionally labeled as liberal.

Do you have facts to back up this assertion or did you simply pull it from thin air?
I’m with you. I firmly believe that these convicts in for “possession” are really there because they plea bargained a more serious charge down. There may be a few exceptions but I’d need to see them cited rather than take the word of sky screamers.

My views on decriminalizing pot would probably be seen as liberal.

I’m kind of a tree hugger sometimes.
I’m for marijuana legalization.
I’m for gay marriage.
I’m pro choice.
That’s about it. I’m pretty conservative on most everything fiscally related and regarding the ever expanding size of our government and law books. I think conservatism is slowly trending my way.
Let’s not die on the mountain of contrived social issues, and just live free.

Legalize drugs and prostitution and allow DR assisted suicide.
Get rid of all blue laws.
Gay marriage is fine
If someone wants to cut their dick off that's fine too.

Plus when ghetto drug man goes to jail he gets to hang out with his friends and gets free food, it’s a vacation for him
When suburban mom gets a slap on the wrist she could lose her job, get kicked out of social circles, etc. it really is a devastating blow

Well, after observing the antics of the left for the past several decades, I may be starting to agree with the leftists about the need to use concentration camps and gulags to imprison one's political enemies.
Besides that, not really, pretty much a pure conservative here.

this thread is funny b/c i always hear how "right wing" this site is but we have like 20+ people, without hesitation, talking about legalizing drugs and whores...hell a good chunk are for gay marriage

I think environmentalism for the sake of the environment is good. For example, don't allow companies to discharge waste containing dioxin into rivers where it potentially gets into our water supply and causes cancer.
However environmentalism for the sake of implementing bigger socialists government is the problem. For example, climate change.

I think drugs should be legalized, as well as prostitution - just tax the hell out of it
Why?
Purely logistical reasons. It's likely the only way you'd be able to get the rest of the GOP base on board with it. Personally, I'm all for elimination of all taxes except a National Retail Sales tax, abolish the IRS and repeal the 16th amendment.

Seems like most of these “liberal views” are actually libertarian, or am I missing something?

If true, that just shows you how twisted the GOP has become. The only way they'll accept liberty is if it's heavily taxed

Don't know if you would consider these libertarian views or classically liberal ones, but...
Don't care about homosexuals wanting to get married, don't care about transgender ADULTS wanting to make physical changes to their bodies, have no issue with the legalization of marijuana or prostitution.

most of my "liberal" views are really driven by my conservative views of personal liberty

Do you think a white suburban mother with no prior criminal record should get the same sentence as a black man with a lengthy criminal record for the same offense?
Kind of an important factor when trying to compare "apples to apples".
When you hear of a black man going to jail for simple possession and get all outraged, maybe consider if he broke his probation and that's why he is doing jail time.
I have a friend who's white son did 2 years for breaking into a car. Sound a little harsh? Not when you realize that he broke his probation.

Liberal used to be very libertarian. I guess now liberal means progressivism which really is socialism voted in through democratic means.

I believe laws that try and legislate morality are not effective and counter productive.
The amount of money and lives destroyed by this approach is mind boggling.
Fiscal conservative. MAGA
