Get a Jura coffee maker. Best I've had.
I was on vacation in Costa Rica and they had a Jura that made the best damn coffee I'd ever had. I said, "I've got to get me one of these things!" I Googled the model they had, $2100.
Needless to say, I didn't buy one, but they have some for $500-$600 also.

frickin amateurs in this thread
I bought a coffee bean farm in Colombia
Then I flew to France and commissioned a bespoke press
Once the beans come in, I roast them over organic firewood
After roasting, I grind them using blades forged from the finest steel the Miura forge in Japan has to offer
Last, I head to glacier natl park to obtain runoff from the glaciers, which I then distill
The end product still tastes like community dark roast that I ran through a Mr Coffee, but it must be better

Delonghi.
We abused the frick out of this machine on set of Greyhound back in April.
It probably put out 100+ espresso shots a day.
This one on eBay for $220ish.. Used

Simple, pour over type coffee maker
Grind your beans, put them in black filter part, stack that on top of the carafe. Hit start (or program what time you want), and the water heats up to perfect temperature and then the shower head perfectly evenly sprinkles over the grinds. Even has a pre-infusion option that will sprinkle a tin bit of water, then wait two minutes, then sprinkle the rest of the water, to refine the flavor.
Phenomenal coffee. So few moving parts they last forever.
It's essentially a pour over machine.

Jura is what I use daily. It’s awesome.

It's fricking coffee.
You could grind your beans and just pour hot water into a ceramic spout that goes into your cup.

This guy drinks coffee. Ours is in the $1,000 range. Delicious coffee

Or you could replace the chemex for a $6 carafe from world market that does the exact same thing.

Don’t drink coffee personally because I think it’s a crutch, but everyone I know that does just grabs them a cup of community at the gas station on the way to work.

Once you start buying fresh roasted beans, grinding and using a pour over, there’s no going back

Not really necessary to spend $400 on coffee, but if you are, buy an espresso machine.
