What fish do you keep that others don’t?

I will keep big reds, sheephead, big croakers and sometimes big gafttop.

Have been tempted to keep a stingray to try him out, but haven’t done that yet.

Did it once.
It's good but it's not your traditional fish fillet.

ETA: Also, not worth getting hit with a barb

Ate it once in Singapore. It wasn’t bad. It was delicious compared to the shark fin soup, sea cucumber, and uni.

Jack Crevalle make some mean fish tacos if you soak the filets in milk for a little bit before cooking

11.75" speckled trout

Gaff top and sheeps head is pretty good. Keep white trout if we cooking them that weekend.

Goo makes a good courtbouillon much like a large redfish.

I've used choupique to make fish cakes after boiling them in seafood boil and picking the meat. Same with garfish to make gar balls.

I especially like shark meat since there are no bones to deal with and it is an excellent choice to grill and baste with garlic/butter/lemon sauce as it cooks.

Found a lot of people that think trigger fish are trash fish, but I keep them.

supposedly if you punch out circles in the wings of the stingray its the same as scallops
