why would a prosectuor hand documents of their investigation over to a person they know would immediately hand either parts of or the entirety to the defendant.

Gowdy is playing politics. His adoration of the FBI may have simply been his trying to triangulate and come back hard on them with the document release, but why even play? The people who want to see what’s going on, do, and everyone else is purposefully ignorant, there’s no longer a middle, so just F’ing do and say what’s right. Trump has already shown the way.

Exactly what tangible results do you expect from someone with exactly 1 vote out of 435?
Seriously. Tell me exactly what someone in his position should be expected to accomplish? He isn't Speaker, and he isn't Majority Leader or whip. He's a committee chairman, and as chairman, he's apparently calling for impeachment in the House. And keep in mind that his power to make that happen dwarfs that of Ryan, McCarthy, and Scalise.
So, once again, what tangible results do you expect that he should be able to produce, as 1 out of 435?
I mean, it's not as if he's the chief executive with complete authority to fire Rosenstein. Or Sessions, for that matter.
