These threads are the literal glass ceiling for Tigersroppings.

Not that I disagree with it , not that I agree that the lax mideration on hate speech isn’t the best thing for the website, just that this is why being acquired by a real media company is an option for these guys.

I was in downtown Baton Rouge one Saturday, and the NAAWP was holding some rally on the steps of the old state capitol. Hung around to see what the fuss was all about. Ended up meeting David Duke. I wish this was the days of camera phones; a selfie would have been funny as hell.

I'm fifth cousins to Baldur von Scirach, so there is that distant family link.

One of my great-uncles through marriage was some muckity-muck in the Klan back in the day. I only met the man once, and he was ancient by this time and didn't know where he was half the time.

My wife's great-grandfather was in the SS and executed by Josef Tito's partisans in Yugoslavia at the end of World War II for war crimes.

Drunk dude next to me on the plane dropped a loud N bomb. It was all at once the crudest and most hilarious thing I’ve ever witnessed.

I don't know. Everyone (white) has that (or those) uncle(s) or grandpa who says vague-but-not-really-vague things like, "In the '40s, everyone just stayed to each other," or, "No, I'm not prejudiced. I like you if you work. I just know that every time I have trouble with my workers, it's not my white ones. We'd be better off if the Mexicans would just stay in Mexico."

And when you throw in the issue of where the line between mere observation and outright prejudice is (I argue there's more of the former in this day than the latter), the question of whether someone is a "white supremacist" becomes even more difficult.

I know outright, unequivocal supremacists exist. And I'm sure I know some of them, though I don't know that I do. But I also see that they don't really act on or express those views too much, and that's what matters most. Yes, little things like letting your daughter ride home from band practice with a white classmate of hers you don't know well versus not letting her ride home with a black classmate with good grades, no behavioral problems, etc. that you do know is a little bit racist.

But the real question is whether we as a people are getting more or less racist. And until the SJW movement of the past 5-6 years, I'd say we were getting better about not harping on needless crap that used to happen and isn't so relevant anymore. FWIW, you don't have to give up objective observations; it's what you do with those observations (and recognizing that legitimately, no, not everyone falls under their group's tropes) that matters.

Long ago when I was in high school, the sister of one of my friends worked at a fried chicken fast food.

She didn't arrive at home when she should have after closing the place and they found her dead behind the building. Apparently she had been robbed and killed for the daily proceeds from the business.

Her brother went off the charts with hate for blacks since that was the race of the guy that was convicted of her murder. He went full blown KKK after that since the proliferation of radical hate groups wasn't as prevalent back then like it is now.

Don't know what happened to the guy because every time I saw him after she was killed he'd only talk about how much he hated blacks and wanted to get some catch-back.

43 years old.

I once saw David Duke on the street walking to Tiger Stadium. Didn't recognize him until I walked right past. Other than that, no.

It really doesn't exist in any meaningful quantity despite what people want you to believe.

I don't personally know any of those wacko skin head types, but I do know plenty of rednecks who severely and openly look down on other races.

I watched the same show. It reinforced what has been, in my opinion, manifestly evident all along, that almost all members of neo-Nazi and Klan groups in modern times are obviously mentally deficient. The whole show was centered on talking to people who were completely retarded and incapable of making a consistent or cohesive argument.

Legitimate white supremacist extremists exist in infinitesimal numbers and they are mostly made up of people who probably couldn't manage to graduate high school and thus pose ZERO legitimate threat to anything.

What's your definition of white supremacist? Is it the person who actively wants to strip my wife and kids of their citizenship and deport them, or the person who simply won't oppose it, or the person who thinks racial stereotypes are funny but isn't actually working to establish a white ethno-state?

That said, I've met a Klan member while I was in the military, have a couple racist family members who have equal animus toward white "trailer ****", and know a bunch of people who freaked out over Barack HUSSEIN!!! Obama in a manner that was way out-of-proportion to President Obama's actual policies.

So are we talking white supremacists, their enablers, or all that and people who are merely racist? If we exclude the racists, why do they get a free pass?
