This may be a good time for the Feds to step up their investigations in Tangipahoa Parish.

For getting rid of pet pork projects? Are we for or against pet projects now?

I have no problem with cutting back, but targeted cuts are just a beginning. We need statewide cuts and not just targeted cuts against your political enemies.

But what do you expect from a political animal like Edwards. He's going to use his muscle to get what he wants in the La. tradition. And what he wants is higher taxes.

Wrong, construction budget is where some of the pork is.

I'm sure we couldn't afford these projects anyway.

So in a majority Republican state, the majority of the projects vetoed were in Republican held districts.

This basically tells me nothing.

Jackson Parish won't get funds for a livestock pavilion.

Why would government build a livestock pavilion in the first place?

This is what the line item veto brings you and exactly why the framers thought it was an absolutely retarded power to give the President.

When we eventually write up a new state constitution, we have to take the line item veto away from the Governor.

It gives him too much power over the legislature.

Construction projects are often fat laden. But the La. Republicans insist ingramfstanding by slashing education and healthcare

A constitutional convention, at least theoretically, could be a good idea so that the constitution could be amended to alllow more flexibility for cuts, but they’d probably screw it up.

JBE has muscle?

The dude can't even control his own party in the statehouse as the black caucus has been whipping out their BBC and showing him who's boss.

JBE is looking more and more like a lame duck and that's what he will be when he calls another special session and gets jack shite again.
