Scottlandville science teacher killed in BR Thursday morning.

"This was a good kid," said Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul. "There's just too many murders."

And so was the former quarterback for McKinley High School.

Over one year ago and not one black person from that party has stepped up to provide information leading to the arrest of his killer.

Sadly I'm starting to be happy that my daughter is choosing another school over LSU. Not sure I want her in Baton Rouge.

I think the chief was talking about the victim, not the shooter. Article now says the victim was in his 20s, which is probably like a kid to someone the chief's age.

NBR is gonna eventually look like Mogadishu in Black Hawk Down. People will be killed and the coroner won't even show up. The cops will stop going out there. Mail service will eventually be discontinued.

Honestly I feel like eventually water and electricity will start being spotty in SBR too, because of the complete ineptitude of those running city hall.

13th murder this month,

What a damn shame. They can have Spanish Town, Garden District, mid city gov’t street areas - too damn close to the jungle for my safety.

Johnson said her son, 19, was shot about a month earlier but survived. She's in the process of moving to Dallas with him to escape the threat of gun violence.

Yeah....Dallas might not be much of an improvement if you dig a little deeper.

Murphy Paul is a hack. What a complete shitshow between him and Broome. NBR = South Chicago

I don't know if St. George is even capable of rescuing the parish.

St George isn't a panacea, at best it's just a stalling action.

Until the root cause (lack of positive roll models for young black males) is addressed on a continual basis instead of ignored or excused, the situation will not only not improve but will continue to get worse due to the Idiocracy effect (the poor and lazy will eventually outbreed the working classes because the only things they show a propensity for creating are offspring and they have plenty of time for this).

Do you feel better now? I’m sure that made you feel like a weight was lifted off your chest.

Made the mistake of moving back to this hell hole depressing state. Will be moving again next year and never returning, what a complete dump.

Cornball brother, probably thought he was better than them.

Is there any hope for BR?

It’s crazy that a capital city with a major university can become what it is. Detroit was trash, but even that place is on a bit of an uptick. The old rust belt cities have their share of crime, but it doesn’t seem to equal the rate of BR. Chicago is so big, they can claim their crime is isolated to a small area.

I think BR definitely has great qualities. From a cultural standpoint, why in the hell can’t people in North BR resist the urge to murder someone?

I thought a black female liberal mayor miraculously cured gun violence and civil unrest
