Breaking: ABC Cancels "Roseanne"

Dissent must be punished.

I do wonder if this is a "cover" though...the show's ratings were declining and the 2nd season wasn't even going to have any trump references.

I am all for both freedom of speech and consequences if you do say something stupid.

You can spin her tweet many ways, but it really was a stupid thing to say.

ABC is a private business, so this is within their rights. However, Rosanne was a ratings smash hit, so I expect there to be some viewership backlash against ABC for this. Rosanne will likely quickly be picked up by another network or streaming service, and fans are likely to see this move by ABC as purely partisan politics, and not in a good way.

I think this is a bad business decision by ABC which they are going to regret.
