Depends on their trustworthiness and qualifications, just like with a straight sitter/daycare.

Our babysitter is a lesbian. We use her because she is fricking awesome and is great with the kids. Also very good at last minute requests and has a flexible schedule.

Nope. I wouldn't trust my kids with someone who can't distinguish right from wrong.

This is a pretty common bias people have. I can admit that I have the same bias. Just more comfortable leaving kids with female sitter even if qualifications are the same. You don't really see a lot of male sitters which causes me even more doubt when I do see one.

I would also like to hookup all the dads in here to a lie detector saying they would be ok with a gay male babysitter watching their kids to see if they are actually telling the truth 
I know it is completely irrational of me, but something about a male babysitter, whether gay or straight, doesnt sit well with my brain. I know its irrational, but it just be that way ya know
