AD is our 5 and JR should feast in the paint against second units.

With his post scoring and passing ability I also wonder if he could elevate Moore and Miller with easy shots like Cousins did.

I get what cgrand and Teddy are saying about starting Hill, and I think this is an "If it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of decision that could be easily changed. However if you start Hill can you start Payton too? And if you don't start Payton how does that impact Jrue? I'd be more focused on maximizing Jrue than Moore or Hill. Jrue can swing a game for you on any given night, Moore and Hill have that ability probably less than 5 games a year.

payton + hill (+randle?) together is suboptimal but to teddy's point, what does hill provide off the bench? pels need to be showcasing the dude so they can get something/anything for him and the only way to do that is play him with AD & holiday

would a trade for Kyle Korver be something we should try and what do you think that trade would look like?

*whispers* Terry Rozier fits in the Pelicans' $3.8M trade exception

I'm not sure New Orleans wants to part with another first-round pick for Rozier after sending a first to Chicago last year for Mirotic, but he'd be a fascinating fit on the Pellies

Siegel

sorry I know this a few pages back but just throwing my 2 cents in here. Boston wouldn't give up Rozier for cap space. We'd have to give them something. And with that being said, I'm not a Rozier fan and I wouldn't want to spend assets on him

I am however a fan of Delon Wright, a true 'Gentry-baller', (thank you Kumar) and would give up assets for him in a heartbeat

That was more of my point cgrand, so thanks.
If Hill can't do anythign for us, then trading him away will be very difficult, and we will have to give away things just to give him up. ALl i want is for his contract to not be a negative asset. Just be a neutral asset where he's just a salary matcher, and still a guy that can give you minutes, as opposed to someone like Ajinca who is just salary.

It'll be hard enough to convince a team like Dallas/Milwaukee/Charlotte to take him for the guys we want from them with the picks we'll include. If he has so much negative value, then the pick is simply to get rid of him, as opposed to getting the player we are going after, and then we don't have the assets to get those guys unless we can give them enough expirings.

This may look a little different once they add another guard, but for now if Payton and Jrue are your starters I could see Hill getting to play a bit of a Point Forward role off the bench sharing the ball handling duties with Clark and Jackson. If Miller is your Small Ball 4 that gives him 3 catch and shoot targets plus Randle. I'm not sure he's actually up for that role, being able to dribble to the basket and not finish is far different from creating offense for others, but he has shown the separate skills of dribble penetration and passing. Can he do them at the same time?

Was about to post about point forward Solo potential bench units.

If Frank can do some things, a Frank-Miller-Solo-Randle-Niko lineup really intrigues me as a rotation sitting Jrue-AD that might not shite the bed.

Nobody. Just been a Pels/Hornets fan a long time and used to like reading the discourse on this board long before I signed up.

If Frank gives us anything positive this season, I'm ecstatic. I'm cautiously optimistic he can give a solid 10 mpg.

I’ll preface this post by saying that I never agree with anything Fletcher says. That said, am I the only one who likes the idea of Fournier here? You could send Hill/Ajinca and a 1st for him. You don’t have to worry about him leaving (Butler/Barnes/Middleton) as you would if with the three mentioned as he’s signed for a few years. He’s on a reasonable salary, he’s a great floor spacer and can be an adequate defender. You can then move Moore back to the bench where I think is his best fit. Next offseason, you’d have AD, Jrue, Fournier, Moore and Jackson on the books plus Niko’s cap hold. And hopefully work with Randle with a wink wink to give him bigger money the following offseason. Thoughts?

Not a Fournier fan for this squad. He is really bad on the defensive end. Like really bad. Plus he is a SG/SF tweener.

Honestly I’d rather have Moore with his contract & skill-set over Fournier and his contract & skill-set every time

Fletcher will always push for the foreign player. I am not sure why. Maybe he thinks it makes him sound like he knows something about the NBA?

According to a league source, the #Sixers have had discussions about trading Jerryd Bayless to the #Cleveland #Cavs for Kyle Korver.

Cleveland looks to be looking to dump salary. They would save more by trading Korver to us for Ajinca. However, we would take on $7.5 million in salary for next offseason. I wonder if Dell would consider this.

I just hope the speculation of them creating space to potentially take on Ryan Anderson's contract due not come to pass. It would stink if they bail the Rockets out of that albatross contract.

Vlade’s going to bail Morey out of that trash Reno deal. That’s ridiculous.

A pick and Ryno is from Sacramento. When he was a FA they were one of the teams expected to drive up his price high enough that Dell should have known better and traded him.
