Maybe i'm missing something here but Louisiana State Parks are charging $28-$50/night to go tent camping? What the hell kinda shite is this?

I've been camping on the beach on multiple Hawaiian islands for less than that. Hell, I've gone camping in the Hill Country of Texas for $7/person/night.

Man wants to be out in nature alone and you want to charge him $30 to do it?

frick this state.

Texas is where it's at, amigos.

State parks cost a lot to build and maintain. Just go camping in a wma or something if you are poor

You know there are places to camp that aren't a state park, right?

No, they're charging $28-$50 per night for the improved campsites, with electricity and running water and a place to park your motorhome. I believe most state parks are less than $20 for true tent sites with no amenities.

It's $9 to tent camp, toolbag. Those sites you're talking about are RV type spots or drive-up camping spots for people who like the idea of sleeping in a tent, but don't really like the idea of camping.

1. A premium campsite is an improved campsite with sewer or is pull-through or is in a prime location.
2. An improved campsite has water and electrical hookup available.
3. An unimproved campsite does not have utility hookups. These are typically located in campgrounds where utilities or bathhouses are nearby.
4. Backcountry campsites typically only have a tent pad and fire ring and are located in undeveloped areas of an OSP site, where no facilities are provided. These sites are accessed by backpacking or by non-motorized watercraft.

I've never paid to tent camp, but then again, I always use BLM land.
