Golf ball info mega-thread

I thought we could condense our information into a few threads. We seem to get a lot of the same questions. This can be the golf ball thread. I’ll start a new to the golf board thread next and we can link them all.
Bridgestone Tour BX/330s vs Srixon Zstar XVs
Due to the recent sale on golfballs, I picked up a box of Zstar XVs. I tried them today. I usually play the 330s and new Tour BX and Xs.
Note this is the XV not regular Zstar
Distance: XVs seemed to go farther. I was pounding the driver today, but noticed it was farther than my regular spots by about a half club. I noticed the same on irons. It was about 3-5 yards farther. My irons are about 10 yards apart from one another.
Control: Tie From driver to irons, the ball just went where the swing put it. XVs May have a little less side spin. It seemed to “work” a little less. XVs did seem to go higher which is not good for me, but may be for you.
Wedge spin: Bstone by a mile. The XVs didn’t suck back like the Bstones at all. It still stopped, but not like the bstone.
Putter feel: Bstone again. The XVs felt “clicky” and I was smashing them by at first. Bstone felt much softer. I was able to figure it out after a few holes, but it’s sometbing to consider.
Conclusion: I’m going to stick with the Bstones, but the XVs are a nice replacement if they are on sale. I’ve heard the regular Zstar feels a bit softer, but that’s just hearsay.
Post your ball reviews below.

Prefer Chromesoft but really like Tour B RXS. Forgot to put balls in bag this morning so I stopped at WM in Carencro and grabbed Titleist Tour Soft as that was the best option there.
Didnt like it around the greens, not the "check" I expect. Good feel on putter. Thought they were very long though.

Vice Tour.
Cheap enough and good enough for me.
Nobody else plays them so I never have to mark them.

Every time I tried to buy some Vice they were sold out

My gamers continue to be BStone Tour B XS. Nothing beats them in terms of control (spin with wedges and short irons) but they still fly with woods.
My backup is the Snell MTB Black. I tried the red but there wasn’t a noticeable difference in terms of spin like advertised. I’d rather the softer, longer Black that spins just as much. Very comparable to the ProVs. I’d have no problem gaming them too.

I do not have tour level club head speed so I switched to a lower compression ball and I am getting more distance off the tee.
These are the ones I have tried:
1. Calloway Supersoft: best performing of the group. Good feel around the green.
2. Wilson Duo: see above, but not quite as good on green as far as feel
3. Titliest DT TruSoft: not quite the distance as Supersoft, but equal feel on green.
I just don’t have the ability to compress the ProV1 at this point in my golf game. I will admit that ProV1 has exceptional feel around the green. I just can’t launch it with my swing.

Try the Bridgestone e6. It’s in that category. I’ve heard lots of good things.
Also, try the TM project A

Gonna bust out some K sigs for the first time tomorrow. Plenty of rain here tonight, in N La, so I don't expect much roll tomorrow. I'll be interested in the feel off the irons and putter though. Will update my opinion soon.

I am a PV1x guy. This year I am giving the Chromeesoft and TP5 a chance to crack the rotation.
TP5 flies off the driver - it is a little clicky with my wedges...but I may can overlook that if the distance with the woods stays at this level. TP5’s distance may allow me to move back to a quality iron rather than a cluncky GI iron.
Chromesoft is money around the greens - love my wedge game with this ball. Love the feel with the irons as well. TP5 is longer though for me.

I tried a sleaze and they were really good. Not playing a more expensive ball unless I’m breaking 80 regularly.

Trying out the Srixon Q Stars today. Will report back what I find. $30/dozen @ Academy
ETA: I have been hitting the Taylormade burner balls for a couple years now so TIFWIW. Hit the Q Stars today and they felt a hell of a lot better. Played at Copper Mill in the 20 mph winds.
Driver: Had more control off the tee. Flew one about 300 on 16 downwind and stuck it between the greenside bunker and the green.
Irons: Felt much better than the 2 piece burner, but was really hard to judge distance with the wind.
Putter: Felt smooth off the putter, but I don't really feel much of a difference between any 2 balls on the green.
Overall I have to give them another round with better weather to get a good determination.

I am a PV1x guy.
I need less spin off the tee and more around the greens.
I try all kinds that I find around the course. Of those, I like the Bridgestones.
