Baton Rouge spends nearly the same amount on 14 libraries as St George's entire budget

That’s surprising considering how much of the city can’t read.

I’m as big of a proponent of STG as any, but there is a huge difference between an actual budget for an entire library system for an entire parish and a fictitious budget for a small city that doesn’t exist yet.

I'd like to see the wand waving that got them to that 58 mil number

The point of the post is to show how bloated everything is in Baton Rouge. St George says they will be posting similar facts as the days and weeks go on.

I’m almost as excited about the St George break away as i was the Trump election.
And not for the reasons you will probably think.
I am more excited to watch the fall out and completely, over the top amounts of butt hurt it’s gonna cause. I don’t really care one way or the other if it even happens. I just only hope it does to watch the crying ensue.
The loss of money to the city, the constant race card reaching, and the comical white SJWs that will come out.
And then, the truly best part is when St George can actually get a public school going and it becomes the first almost all white public school in decades.
The whole thing will create some of the most amazingly hilarious stories and i will gladly sit and smile while watching people tear into each other over it all.

how is that fictitious? it's the same as going to a bank as an entrepreneur and showing them your future business budget in order to gain a loan- you must have a plan in place when the time comes to implement.

Like I said last night, these organizers really have their shite together this time. They have factual data to refute any claims that SWB and her allies make. The only card they have left is the race card.

Exactly. Regardless of how you feel about this issue we will soon be inundated with "facts" like this.

I didn't realize BR had 14 libraries

I see the SG mis-truths are starting already.
Libraries are parish funded, not City.

Not sure why you’d think that? There are plenty of black kids who live in the St. George zone

That's called money laundering. Funnel money to these public places and then it's gobbled up by the thieves. That's what's wrong with the state budget s*** that's what's wrong with the federal budget. The sad part is they're not held accountable because they're all in on it.

But not the SG politicians.
They'll be above it.

It's a fact that paying $333,000 per month, per library is highway robbery
Posted on 3/6/18 at 6:02 am to HeadBusta4LSU
That is a dedicated tax that is being collected parish-wide, so the money can’t be used for anything else. As it is a parish tax the residents of the city of St. George still have to pay that tax as well as fund their city government on a much smaller tax base than the library tax.
BTW, the library tax is a property tax of 11.1 mils. Sounds like they are saying they will need a significantly higher millage rate than that of the libraries to fund their city government. The Parish has about 450,000 residents and the proposed city has what about 90,000 residents? So, property taxes will go up about 50 mils?

SG will still be paying for all 14 of these libraries.
Just like Zachary and Central do.

Won’t disagree there. That is an insane amount of money for libraries.
