They don't have a dime of that if laid against their pension debt.

They’re triggered because it doesn’t fit the narrative of California being a helpless and broke liberal state

I'm with you bro. I'm sick of hearing about the water shortage in the west when all the Golf courses, Rich people, and things associated with rich people use water as they please. Pipe the Mississippi West already for fricks sakes!

I have never been there.... but I would rather just visit it .... I would never live there... even though it's beautiful and offers pretty much anything a person could desire.....

It kinda does fit the narrative. They are no longer in the hole financially because they passed new taxes. It's not like they cut spending

$1 trillion in pension liabilities and $6 billion in cash. Please tell me how 6 billion can pay 1 trillion.

Also, just looked at their f/s, their biggest asset by far is highways and infastructure. You can't sell that to cover bonds or other debt Wich total more than that anyway.

That is a one-year, budget surplus. Good for them.....it’s a damn sight better than a typical year in California. Their overall debt is still nearly half a trillion dollars.

Fits well with the Liberal mentality of using tax increases to cover up fiscal incompetence. Just look at those in this thread thinking CA is doing well with $6B now against $1000B+ in unfunded pension liabilities. Liberals aren't very bright as a whole but they really suck at math.

God damn you people are dumb. It’s a budget surplus.

California is still massively in debt.

Not only that, every hayseed frick on here is an expert on everything that happens over here. It's like Dale Gribble being nosy about every other neighbors' shite when John Redcorn is sneaking into his own house every night

Surplus simply means they took in more than they spent for the last year. It has nothing to do with the balance sheet

They are so much in debt, they could have a surplus for decades and still not even dent their debt.

Liberals and their math:

"We have 6 billion surplus, but we owe trillions and trillions for debts. Were rich!!!!!!"

Tell me again of one government entity worldwide be it; municipal, local, state, sovereign that does not have any debt?

I’m waiting.
