He said that people are fleeing in record numbers. Which is a lie. Also what about global immigration into California? You failed to post those stats.

On the flip side, the glorification of california by one side on here bugs the hell out of me.

They act like it is a state of ubiquitous prosperity for everyone.

It's not. It is a state of both great wealth and terrible, grinding poverty. And it is the ABSOLUTE WORST state to live in if you are poor.

I already posted data that adjusted for COL, we have the highest poverty rate in nation.

It is not a state to live in if you want to be a comfortable middle class person. Lowest home ownership in America, people living in rooms, out of cars, etc..... there are glaring shortcomings to this state.

It does the struggling people here NO FAVORS when you choose to propagandize this state as some liberal paradise.

Because they are blatantly misleading. Immigrants from oriental areas are going to immigrate to the areas where there are people like them and cultures like them.

No shite Asians and indians will move to the places where they will fit in.

I live here, so I'm very aware of the issues. Something will need to be done about pensions. That shite is out of control. But this site is always good for a laugh with these types of threads. They make it seem like Cali is a 3rd world country that only wishes it could be like a southern state.

I don’t know why anyone would call it a third world city.

Sounds like good news for California’s budget. Bad news that it had to all come from tax increases, but I don’t live there so whatever.

California’s are fleeing in record numbers.

Hector and Maria and their 6 kids are replacing them.

Can't blame them with the cost of living

Markets like Austin have a lot of CA transplants

It's not uncommon for someone to sell a house in CA and then buy 3 once they get to Texas. One to live in and 2 for rental income.

If I could sell my house in Texas and buy 3 somewhere else and get the same gig going I'd have to think really hard about it. (What the hell am I saying, that would be the easiest decision ever )

So this would be equivalent to you personally saving $6.1k for the year but still having $100k credit card debt.

They’re triggered because it doesn’t fit the narrative of California being a helpless and broke liberal state

No need to balance a budget when you can just raise taxes.

California has high state taxes, in total, including state, property, sales, and fees.

Net migration out of California continues due to the high cost of living.

Short-term solutions, raise taxes, don't fix long-term issues, spending.

To some degree I agree, but we are at a point as a nation that we need to recognize some basic truths. We need to reduce spending, increase money coming in, and dedicate that money to the deficit.

It’s gonna suck, just like paying off that credit card after Christmas sucks, but once it is paid off our nation will be much better off.

Once paid off, we either invest heavily in our country to create a bigger and better economic engine, or we cut taxes to the point where we run even and give the American tax payer a break.

Unfortunately neither side sees it this way, so we continue to run in on a treadmill, never to advance.

That’s bullshite. The social safety net in California is much better than Louisiana or Mississippi or any of these other extremely red states.
