I don't think it will quite that drastic. However, on the face of it I'm not a supporter. I will reserve judgement until we see how this plays out. This may be Trump's opening position for future negotiations.

If conservatism is related to more free markets, tariffs run strongly counter to that.

Not really. I am a conservative, but not a globalist. What you seem to be a fan of is Neoconservatism where they sell out America for profit.

When do I need to expect this Hoover-like depression again? I dropped all my 401k into food, water, and ammo in anticipation.

Help me out Tarzana.

It was either right before or right after the nuclear holocaust with NK or the day after DJT was elected.

Wait...it might have been just before the NRA killed all the children or right after the entire White House Administration and all the generals quit because they all hate DJT.

Or maybe it was going to happen after we lost the war with Russia or just before DJT raped all the women and put gay people in concentration camps.

It's just so hard to keep up with all the permutations...

Besides, Chinese steel sucks anyway.
which is exactly why a tariff is necessary.

Don't forget that Cohn's exit the other day was supposed to crash the market too.

Stock Market will go back down a little by the end of the year, but it will be higher than when Trump took office.

I read something in the summer of 2016 that the stock market would continue to go up through 18 and to expect a small recession in 2019.

I have my reservations on a small recession in 2019, but anything is possible.

Don’t remember where I read it, but it could be bullshite. Will try and find it for a link

you believe in socialism.

like actually believe...most people would assume that you're just pretending because of the abject failure socialism has been shown to be.

But you really do believe.

tarzana is like you. A true believer.
