Pitcher:

- 6’2”
- 88-91 mph fastball
- mediocre curve
- no third pitch

Position player:

- 5’ 9”
- 3-4 hr’s a year
- career .280 - .290 BA with a OBS of .380 - .400
- can play all positions mediocre but is built for 2B.

This isn’t a fire Manieri thread because the top 8 seed streak is very impressive. But I just feel like recruiting could be a lot better considering LSU’s resources and prestige.

Baseball is the only program where you can have the number one class and no one show up to school due to the MLB draft. Plays into who you recruit and who you have.

It’s almost impossible to get someone on campus who’s throwing harder than 91ish and has great movement pitches. All of those guys go straight to the bigs

Florida does it.

I feel in baseball, LSU should be envious of no one.

sure you are

LSU has some of the top baseball talent in the country, so much so players are always transferring to get playing time elsewhere.

I dunno, Eric Walker did fantastic last year despite being in your first category. Location and control are the most important parts. LSU has had plenty of pitchers that can throw 92-95 but can't throw strikes. They always get beat out by the 87-90 mph pitcher with control.

I think Florida has to be doing some illegal loan program for these players

The amount of top 10 round talent they have on their pitching staff is insane

I have faith that one day, our fans will eventually learn how to spell his name right. Maybe if he's here another 10+ years, it'll happen.

This - see last year with whats his name that threw 97 but couldn’t throw a strike to save his life.

Vanderbilt and Florida both have the penchant for doing this you know why?

Those two schools are in different universes academically than LSU

What Florida does in recruiting is not normal.

Vanderbilt offering baseball players scholarships is not like the other 13 teams in the SEC.
