It's not Morgan City. And it's not Houma. But if you need to go to that shithole, it's only 15 minutes away.

Plus, I'm nostalgic about spending so many great nights getting trashed at Rene's.

Cocodrie.

If you have to live in that area, live in Bourg right south of Houma. Morgan City is, well it's Morgan City. Houma is a pretty crappy town but at least understands that. Thibodaux is a just as crappy as Houma town that's in deep pretentious denial about being a crappy town.

Houma. Bigger and at least you’re not far from New Orleans.

This is not at all what the OP asked.

Answer is Thibidaux. Houma is toilet and Morgan city is the sewer

Raceland by far. 25 minutes from Houma, 25 minutes from Thibodaux, 50 minutes from NOLA if you’re looking to get shot.

Goal Post and Becks bar put them over the top. Walmart being substantially less crowded and trashy than typical Walmart’s is an added bonus.

Raceland is on the up and up.

Nice farmers market every Sat
Close to great fresh and saltwater fishing
Getting a new public pier built on Bayou Lafourche
Get away from Alidore and between lights and its really safe
Elementary Schools aint all that but my kids dont have problems and they have been improving drastically over the last few years
CL is the best public HS in Terrebonne or Lafourche
Best WalMart in the area by FAR

Thibodaux, since those are our only choices. It does have some nice historic and old craftsman style homes.

Define Charming.

But Houma is better than the other two regardless.

You're in the minority here, and for good reason.

Thibodaux is more low key, less truck nutz, more historic homes, better downtown area, less meth-head prostitutes, better bars, and ED White > Vandebilt

I have lived in all three. Depends on What you like to do. Id rather fish and hunt (and eat fresh fried sacalait) than hang out in a bar, so Id take Morgan City for its proximity to the basin and the marsh.

This. No comparison. Houma --> Arm pit of LA. Morgan City... well it's Morgan City.

I’ve had goal post, and was sorely disappointed

Thibodaux people have a super high opinion of themselves for no real good reason

Houma is run by the good ole baw network, but there’s more shite to do and places to eat

I'm gonna go ahead and remove Morgan City from this conversation as I wouldn't exactly call it charming.

Good people, by and large, but a rough place. Hell, even the pavement of Hwy 90 won't step foot in Morgan City.
