Conservative Friends, Why do you want more State employees armed?

As a Libertarian, I'm torn on this issue. On one hand, I'm all for anyone owning and carrying a gun for whatever reason. On the other hand, there's no way I want another armed agent of the State. Do you want an untrained first grade teacher leaving her weapon on the floor of an elementary school bathroom? Or, do you want a State trained and licensed person administering protection?

Because cops kill brown people and they hope teachers are the same

In my community they are already armed and protect our schools. So, nothing will change.

I want competent, willing teachers and administators to be able to exercise their right to carry a gun in school to protect themselves and students if they choose to.
These ignorant leftist kids from Florida seem to have all the faith in the world in their leftist teachers, but they don't trust them to carry a weapon?

If it saves just one life!

I think anyone legally licensed to carry, who works at the school, should be allowed to do so. If not the schools need to provide for their protection in similar ways to how they do in other gun free zones.

Holy strawman. Who has ever suggested this?

How many first graders are showing up to school shooting up the place?
Second, do you understand that these things usually take place for anywhere between three-five minutes, yet it takes the police at least five minutes to even get to the school grounds?
Armed teachers can stop this before it gets bad better than the cops can. By the time the cops show up, it's too late.

I want to get rid of the fricked up public school system, which would make this a much simpler matter to address.

Your argument is flawed right out of the gate. Have yet to see anyone argue any teacher that has no gun training should bring a gun to school. JFC.
You are a special kind of fricktard. Congrats.

I want to absolutely abolish all federal involvement in primary and secondary education and then arm my local schools to the teeth, or not, depending on whatever the hell we decide to do. Those fairy-arse schools in the northeast and California might need to be attacked a few times before they wise and up and defend their helpless children, but we will be just fine down here.

Under my proposal there are no state employees being armed for pay.
I propose that we issue one AR15 and 100 rounds of ammo to every student who enters the school. That way when some maniac goes Postal, she is surrounded by armed students who refuse to be victims.

So, these shooters are disturbed first graders? Really? That's why you think we're going to arm 1st grade teachers?

I want more law abiding citizens armed. The 2nd Amendment is my concealed weapons permit.

As a Libertarian
As a person who used to consider myself a staunch conservative, with many libertarian views, libertarians here shock me with how similar their views are to leftists. To wit:
quote:
Do you want an untrained first grade teacher leaving her weapon on the floor of an elementary school bathroom?
Why do leftists take this issue to the ignorant extreme, rather than honestly examine sincere proposals to better protect the unprotected? Has anyone suggested that we arm all teachers, the young, the old, the irresponsible, the infirm, the ignorant, the weak, the fragile? Ever?

Exactly nothing precludes a teacher from being a state trained and licensed person, administering protection.

I don’t. I also want there to be less state employees

These two false craptastic choices are why your arse has a fence post up it.

Well, I think the idea would be to have "specific teachers" who would meet a criteria that equals if not exceeds the bar set for police officers put in place.
I'm telling you my High School language arts teacher Mr Abrams was a Vietnam Marine and extremely capable of dispatching a millennial veit-cong bushwhacker. He prolly' dreamed about it in hindsight....

The school I work at already had an armed officer at school every day. Put an armed officer in every HS. That is a local level agent. Everyone wins.
