Well considering they used each country's measurement of "poverty" instead of one standard, the entire thing is utter bullshite.
Most of our people living in "poverty" have a better standard of living then most of the middle class in Europe.

You’re far underestimating how bad off all those 3rd world countries actually are. The average HDI (Human Development Index) of an Alabama county is about an 0.82 which falls firmly in the developed region. Well above developing countries (2nd world) and FAR FAR above any 3rd countries (0.6 and below).
