Usually wait until mid March but grass and weeds already starting to pop up.

S please ask your groundskeeper if he is weed and feeding yet.

Your yard should be 50% green before you put down your first application of fertilizer.

Weeding now is good, but no feed for a while.

Unless you live in south Florida, you shouldn't be doing any kind of landscaping in February.

ETA: Weeding is fine

Seriously?I'd honestly be surprised if even his butler communicates with his groundskeeper.

We need one more big freeze to save the day but it’s not looking good. We’re going to have an extended run of 70s and 80s. That first mow of the season signals a return back to oppressive weather.

Maybe March will cool back off. It’s been a cold winter. The pattern finally changed and the West is finally getting some cold while the south heats up.

150 degree rule.

Day time highs + night time lows routinely hit 150 degrees...is when your grass is growing.

You're seeing cool season weeds currently, not warm season weeds.

Grass is the south doesn't go 'dormant'..think of it like this...when you wake up in the morning, are you hungry?

Right now you want to apply atrazine for grassy winter weeds like poa. You will need 2-4D and dicamba for broadleafs. You don’t want to apply nitrogen to Bermuda, st aug, or centipede. Do not fert centipede until 75% green up. Ferting centipede too early will cause it to start growing roots in the thatch layer.

It all depends on the soil temperature. Not the atmospheric temps.

Organic fertilizers, like Microlife, can be put down all year. If your soil is healthy, There is no need to weed and feed. Weeds can only grow is your soil quality is crap.
