dope smell in Denver can't be stronger than the ammonia smell on 85 around Greely from the feedlots.

I still support the freedom to smoke a plant if you choose. If it impacts your life than that's on you. We don't need a big government nanny state.
That’s essentially my opinion as well. I have absolutely no desire to smoke that shite, and I don’t like how it makes me feel, but I also don’t want our government playing wet nurse. That’s not their role, and issues like this demonstrates just how big they’ve become. Give them a minute and they’ll justify just why they should regulate every single facet of your life. That not the country I want to live in, nor was it our founders idea either.

Most of those "problems" are a result of being the only state where it's legal (for some of the five years) and then one of just a few.
Not really arguing your main point but they were never the only state it was legal. We (WA) actually legalized a few hours before they did.

Is it really so radical that the first state to legalize recreational marijuana
Dammit. We really let Colorado steal all our thunder by taking longer to open retail stores. Probably for the better though since they're the ones that take most of the heat.

Was it the plummeting unemployment rate, rapidly dimproving school system, or billions of outside capital coming into downtown that have turned you away from Denver?
Maybe it is just the large population growth among young, employed people looking for a great city to start their families in.
Denver is super cool, there is no denying that. It does attract tons of homeless people. Drive down Colfax to the Capitol building and youll see hordes of them. Its also annoying how expensive housing is. The weed company owners have to buy real estate to avoid the feds potentially raiding their bank accounts and they buy it up like crazy. The market is a huge bubble. Once other states start legalizing, there will be a decline in the Denver market.

I warned everyone what this weed stuff would usher in. Sow the wind. Reap the whirlwind.

All I know is that the bacon cheeseburger I just had for lunch is worse for me than the weed I sipped this weekend.

Are you saying we should outlaw bacon cheeseburgers?

Name them
Let's see:
(1) Places money into the pockets of terror organizations. Funds organized crime/gangs here in the U.S.
(2) Prevents law abiding citizens from using marijuana for its many benefits.
(3) Overcrowds our prisons with marijuana related crimes. Also ruins many careers with marijuana related felonies.
(4) Provides additional revenue for the prison/pharma industries.
(5) Prevents states/government from taxing a multi billion dollar industry.
(6) Prevents the growth of marijuana industries/small businesses that would stem from legalization. This would create thousands and thousands of jobs.
Let's see your list of consequences for making marijuana legal.

I think he's on your side. Your original post is a bit confusing when you say:
Consequences of keeping marijuana illegal > consequences of making it legal
People are mistaking that as being anti-legalization.

So many angry potheads in this thread

I don't have a dog in this fight but... smells ?
The homeless wouldn't be showing up in droves if more places decriminalize/legalized it.

Have traveled to Denver for business for years and used to enjoy it. The place is becoming a chit hole and I no longer enjoy going there. The downward trend is all since they legalized pot.

nearly every measurable economic variable disagrees with you. Sorry, you don't like young progressives. That doesn't mean Denver is on a downward trend. It just means you're getting old.

Always interesting what "embarrasses" a person.
Nannie government is far more embarrassing to me than allowing people to do what they wish.
