She got what she deserved IMO. You don't call out customers on social media without expecting consequences.
They sure did accept their $735 refund though. How righteous of them.

Christ Fellowship Church placed a $735 takeout order and sent someone to pick it up. They did not leave a gratuity for the order.
“We take the order over the phone, we put the order together, take payment and then take order to the car,” Yoder told the Palm Beach Post. “It’s a lot of work just as much as serving.”
Yoder took to Facebook in frustration and called out Christ Church on not leaving a tip, but didn’t mention where she worked.

A friend of Yoder’s told her to delete the post and that he would call the church about the tip. When Yoder came into work the next day, she was told that the church had been given a full refund and that she was fired.

“We did not call the restaurant to have her fired; we wanted to get the situation resolved,” said David Lonsberry, an executive director of business for Christ Fellowship, in an interview with the Post.

They sure did accept their $735 refund though. How righteous of them.

What was the service provided that deserved a tip?

How many times did she refill their drinks? Remove appetizers? Bring bread? Bring condiments? Replace silverware?

Giving the church a refund was stupid but paying a tip on a takeout order is also stupid.

I mean, I would have been pissed off if that happened to me...but yeah....anyone with common sense knows that mouthing off on social media about job stuff is a dumb move that can never lead to anything good.

Lol. No. That's called regular tasks of their job. No tip required.

So she deserves $110.25-$147 for that in your opinion? Because if they would've given her $50 the complaint would still be that it was too little. She considers herself equal to a waitress, which means she demands 15-20%

I don’t disagree, but she sure as heck wanted that 15-20% she thinks she deserves.

Boxing it up. Don't agree that it is as hard as serving, but it is pretty lame to not tip on an order that large. Should have given them 20 bucks or something.

Someone needs to tell these service industry workers no one gives a shite about your plight
Posted on 2/12/18 at 7:27 am to ForeverLSU02
Stupid bitch. She deserves nothing for answering the phone.

It was $735 worth of takeout food...that is a lot of stuff to get together.
Anyone that doesn't tip at least a small amount for takeout from a restaurant where you normally sit down to eat is pure trash. No one is saying you tip 20%...but at least 10% is standard.
ETA: Depending on the restaurant...Take out is usually assigned to various wait staff. You still rely on tips usually when assigned to take out. You usually have a smaller actual section of the restaurant and are assigned take out.

Agree. I tip for takeout because I know the industry sucks & doesn’t always pay servers a regular wage for getting it together, but it’s a restaurant problem if servers aren’t paid adequately for assembling takeout orders; not the customer’s.

She was stupid for calling them out publicly, but it’s a dick move to not tip a little on a $735 order. Even if the church fund is strapped and not accustomed to tipping, the parishioners should have thrown in $20 bucks or so. Hell thats only 3%.

Lots of poors in here, anyone who doesn’t leave a dollar or two is trash

Tamlynn Yoder, 25, of Lake Park, Fla., lost her job at Outback Steakhouse after she complained in a social media post about not getting a tip.

Outback is so overpriced that $735 probably got like 4 steaks and 5 bloomin onions.

Usually the people handling takeout orders aren't getting paid waitress wages.
