Nope. He has taken an anti-tipping stance on this page for as long as I can remember.

McDonalds, Burger king etc, prepares, bags and then hands you what you ordered. Is it appropriate to tip them too?

Are they paid based on tips or hourly?

are you actually advocating a $73.50 tip in this scenario?

A lot of this thread is debating a tip for to go. Most orders are not this substantial. Let's stay in the bell curve and not worry about the outliers

To-go is not making $2.13/hr, and if they are, that's a management problem, not a customer problem.

That's not always true. Most restaurants the people putting together the order is either the bar or the normal wait staff.

That's precisely what is sort of annoying about the Outback conundrum.

I worked the curbside takeout at Outback when I was in high school in Slidell. We made $3.50/hour, so tips were a nice supplement to the shitty wage. Not everyone tipped - I'd say 75% or so of people did.

I never really had any expectation about what I should be tipped - we never expected 15% or 10%, etc. Literally tipping a dollar or a couple dollars was good enough for me. You're acknowledging your fat arse didn't have to leave your car and we prepared your order with all the calorie-laden condiments, butter, and bread your fat arse can eat. If I was stiffed, not the end of the world. But at the end of the day we really relied on them to supplement the wage and it is more of a service than places where you have to walk in and pick up and pay yourself. (Cue the "Well find a better job!" retorts - it was actually a good job most of the time as most people aren't so stingy that they can't leave a couple bucks)

With that said, this lady is a dumbass. If she's been doing that job for awhile she should know that churches don't really tip. I waited tables at Outback too and would routinely be left bullshite christian proselytizing cards with my 45 cent tip. Pastors don't tip - they just don't. They don't tip in Curbside Takeaway, and they don't tip (or tip very poorly) while eating in. It's just a fact of life. She should've known they would leave her nothing but "DO YOU KNOW IF YOU'RE GOING TO HEAVEN" card. The same is actually true for a lot of group orders. Slidell Memorial Hospital nurses never tipped and they always had the most complicated (relatively speaking) orders.

Yeah, none of this is true. If she was fired, she she is eligible for unemployment in almost every state, including Florida. The only way she could be denied is if she had been fired for serious misconduct.

In Louisiana she can apply for unemployment and if I’m the employer I can deny it. She can appeal and i have to provide documentation as to why but she is not guaranteed to get it. And what most don’t know the employee contributes exactly zero to unemployment insurance.

So yeah...it is true. I’ve denied it.
