Hallman already had Faulk committed
I gonna need some linkage to prove that one hoss. That was 1994-95 hoss kids did not commit early like they do now. It was a big deal on signing day we Faulk committed

Orgeron had one of the worst HC records in SEC history when he was offered what was at the time widely considered a top ten job
What is his SEC record at LSU? Saban lost at least three games every year at LSU except one.
Was not a top 10 job.

Does Saban not get a vote here? He was barely about 50% in a weak Big Ten while at Michigan State. He wasn't a slam dunk. Many wanted him gone after a homecoming loss, too.

Orgeron. We hired the worst coach in Ole Miss history.

Ever.
Seriously. Im not a fan of O. But lurking the board before I made an account was like slogging through a swamp.
yet you still signed up, and have 42 posts in less than 2 weeks. Funny how that works.

O is the worst decision of the three. Archer was a promotion from within. There are other highly successful coaches (like Osborne) who were promoted from within.
So archer wasn’t as bad as a hire because he was promoted from within...the exact same way Orgeron was.

not exact.
Archer was young and on his way up. getting his first shot at a HC gig. Others were considering him as well.

I love we people say this without context like it’s the same as now.

Again no context for the Michigan St record and while no one is a really a slam dunk, NFL teams were considering him at the time. The only people that wanted him gone 4 games are morons that don’t know what they are talking about and again don’t have any context

except that not what they said. They just simply stated it was an internal promotion which has been successful at other school before.

Saban took a team that was on probation and turned it around. His defense at Cleveland was one of the best ever and set records at the time. There is a reason he was able to command that salary.

Saban lost three games every year he was here except one. O loses four games his first year and he should be fired? Saban got housed by Georgia, almost lost to Oregon state, only beat Troy by 4 points and got beat by a very average Iowa team in his final year. Yeah, that Troy that everyone believes was the death nail for O. After years of an opportunity to build the program Saban only managed a four point win against them.

During his senior year, Faulk had developed a close relationship with then-LSU assistant coach Larry Edmondson, who was recruiting him. Then, head coach Curley Hallman and his staff were fired. LSU hired DiNardo from Vanderbilt after its first choice, Texas Christian Coach Pat Sullivan, fell through. In four years at Vanderbilt, DiNardo was 18-26. "I was worried," Faulk said. "Why did they hire a guy who had a similar record at Vanderbilt to the guy they just fired?

There you go, hoss. Hallman had Faulk in the bag before his firing.

Mike Archer was, because he took over following Bill Arnsparger who had the program headed in the right direction.During Mike Archer's tenure the program regressed badly.
