Probably the only time I REALLY melted after a game was the 2008 Tulane vs. Army game. Was homecoming, nice crowd, coming off "close" games against Alabama and East Carolina who wound up 12-2 and 9-5.... with a win Tulane would have been 3-2 with an outside shot at bowling..... (probably not but still).... team dumped total arse that game and rest of the season....

Football
Not really any meltdowns for pro, maybe one of the Cowboys recent losses to the Packers, otherwise:

LSU - Bama 1/9
LSU - Arky ‘07: I was a student at the time and thought life was totally unfair
LSU - Bama ‘12 and ‘14: essentially the same for me at this point.

Baseball
Indians - Cubs Game 7
Indians - Marlins Game 7
Indians blowing the 3-1 lead against Boston in ‘07
Indians blowing the 2-0 lead against NY this past year
LSU losing CWS Finals

Basketball
Spurs losing Game 6 to the Heat in ‘13...but this one was avenged.
Spurs - Lakers .4 , game 5
Spurs - Mavs Game 7 in 2006...the Ginobili foul on Dirk
Zaza’s cheap shot on Kawhi

I meltdown a lot....

Bama/LSU 2012 and 2014. Take your pick - LSU had the game but coughed it up.

Oddly this didn't affect me too badly. Winning in 2010 helped.

That's kinda how I've come to feel regarding the Saints. I turned 50 in 2009 and started to convince myself that I'd never live to see them win it all. When they did, losses like today's just started stinging a whole lot less.

When your favorite team is the Cowboys, you long for another title. I was spoiled as a kid while watching them, but that shite was 20+ years ago.

The losses don’t hurt too much these days because they are so expected with Jerry and Jason. I’ve channeled most of my pro sports love into the Spurs and Indians, and I’m convinced only San Antonio is a true, well put-together organization.

College football was dead to me. I was excited for the KState Bowl Game but it felt empty at the end of the day. Losing Chip Kelly after that was the last nail to my Oregon football fandom in that moment.

As a fan I’m always excited but that game to this day is maybe my biggest sports’ team loss. As a Broncos fan the 2012 ravens playoff loss was bad but we had Manning. We knew we’d be there again. The Blazers are the Blazers. They’d need to lose in the conference championship or finals on a last second shot in game 7. Ducks b-ball is different because it’s basketball. Just need to get lucky.

NCAA football is just a different animal. Unless you’re Saban coached Bama, there is no guarantee. And most years, you know if your season is over after after the midway point. Les Miles got fired for a 9 win season. After winning a title and playing in the playoffs, Fisher is gone from FSU. Oregon football can get close again, but 2012 was their year imo. That team beats 2010 Oregon and 2014 (both of our runner up teams) by 10+ points. More talent and depth in general than 2010 and better coached and better weapons than 2014.

As if losing the Super Bowl isn't bad enough. Let's blow a perfect season in this fashion

A painful season-ending loss? There's always next year.

I’d say Saints game yesterday. I’m not a meltdown and rage type but that is probably the closest I’ve been to wanting to throw my tv out of the front door.

Didn’t have much faith in the 1/9 rematch and I was drunk and fell asleep before halfway in the 3rd.

Saints 2012 vs SF was bad too. Damn you Vernon Davis...

It’s just something about losing to damn Case Keenum on a fluke play that really does it for me, especially after overcoming so much.

Other than 1/9, it was the morning we hired Ed O. Blacked out the night before and all my UT friends were congratulating me on the Herman hire. Woke up in disbelief to the news of Alleva acting like a 5 year old.

1/9 wasn’t to bad for me either. Getting dominated dosent bother me as much as last second losses. Like that bullshite last night that my co-workers keep insisting on talking about today. And yeldon in the 2012 Bama game. That was way worse for me than 1/9. Win or lose ii always booze but after 2012 Bama ii left the stadium went straight home and went to bed
