Looking at the radar map futurecasts... it seems like a lot of the moisture dries up as it approaches NOLA... what is causing that?

Pat S. refuses to say the word 'snow' for BR. He said rain, frozen rain, and maybe some ice pellets.

Dry air blowing in behind the line starts to erode the moisture. So far though, it's overperforming.

The politicians. I mean even the Mississippi River was straight until it met New Orleans.

They have been off all winter. Who would of thought hurricanes were easier to predict than snow.

I just don't get it. He didn't learn anything last month? The radar doesn't lie and the models are readily available. I can forecast better than he can and that is a shame. Wait, maybe it isn't, I guarantee I have educated myself on weather more than he has and he has no degree in meteorology.

A serious reminder but for those of you who have generators make sure you have gasoline to last 48 hrs because I suspect we are going to have some serious power outages with the freezing rain component to this storm.

Full on snow storm in Opelousas right now. Highway 743 is closed at the King's Truck Stop. Highway 190 closed near I-49.

It's because there's not really much moisture at play relative to what we're used to and small scale factors can mean big snow one place and little just twenty miles down the road.

Hurricane strength is hard, direction of storm isn't too bad typically. Big established system, just got to find the things that steer it and figure what they'll do.

I’m starting to worry about the freezing rain icing up tree limbs. Starting to accumulate pretty heavily on my truck.
