The line progressing over the basin should be snowy for BR, and returns are looking great from the Lake Charles radar. Just in time to cover up a nice glazing of ice.

Probably 1/2 inch of accumulation here. Hard to tell because so much of the base is sleet.

Define "snowy". Will this help make the icy roads a little more bearable? I have to be on the roads in BR around 6...not looking forward to it.

So driving from NO to BR tonight around 9 probably isn’t a good idea? Sorry I’m on plane and not able to track weather very well.

Light to maybe moderate snowfall would be my guess and it will do little to help BR roads. The surface streets should be ok for a little while, it's the raised stuff that will be dicey.

Snapchat showing snow creeping south. Opelousas, Sunset, Arnaudville, Church Point and New Roads all with snow.

If BR gets what we are getting in Calcasieu then roads are going to be fricked. Frozen rain covered with about 1/3 inch of sleet covered with less than a half inch of snow. Roads here are a mess.

I wish I were driving to the PMAC but going from Acadian area toward St. George. I should be able to navigate it using surface streets if I have to.

LSU cares about safety now?

no

caring about safety would be to postpone the game to a later time & date

Interesting that TWC upped accumulations. I don't think BR is going to have much sleet, the next batch of moisture may begin as all snow and stay that way until it is done. If we get under some heavier bands then I could see accumulations up to an inch or more in certain areas. I hope it happens, just so Shingleton can suck it.
