Yep, this is the line he shouldn't cross. Leave it alone.

This will be the beginning of nationwide legalization.

Having an unelected bureaucrat 'decree' it legal is an undemocratic usurpation of power.
The legalization in these states has been the result of long deliberations and statewide voting. If this administration has any respect for the democratic will of the citizens, it should leave this alone.

Democrats will officially state that Marijuana should be legal, which will greatly help turnout in 2018. Book it.

Any chance this is part of a secret plan to make it legal? He's gotta know the outcry is going to be huge. Reps from the west will be compelled to write a bill......any chance? It's 4D chess, right?
Otherwise, it's just stupid.

Over a billion in revenue and taxes say: frick you Sessions, good luck.

Jeff Sessions is lower than virus shite.

It needs to.
If politicians want MJ to be legal then they need to reschedule its classification.
Dropping it to schedule 2 or lower allows it to be prescribed.
It would take dropping it from the schedule completely to legalize it I believe.
Regardless of what you think of Sessions, he is attempting to enforce laws on the books. If it forces a permanent change to keep it from being a legal grey area, I am fine with that.

anyone who is freaking out over this but isn't supporting a full scale back of our federal legal system is a hypocrite
Federal criminal law should be a hell of a lot more limited than it is now.

I own 2500 shares of a cannabis stock that shot up 30 % when California went live on the new year. I can only imagine what nationwide would do to the stock.
Granted it will be a bloodbath today in 20 minutes with this news...

Nice but that argument didn't work well in the Civil War

Hopefully Sessions will be a one term AG

So you abhor the Obama administration's attack on the AZ immigration law, right?
Or how about the EPA enforcing regulations that exceed state-level regs?
Or the new Consumer Bureau that supercedes state-level laws?

For sure
But the regs are so much voluminous and scary

and so much for Federalism and MUH states rights.
We just had a President that had 8 years to reschedule weed. Did he do it? Nope, he just told his AG to look the other way. If you want to bitch and moan to someone then you need to start there.
You want to know why he didn't do it? I think you know the answer but just don't have enough honesty in yourself to answer it truthfully.
MONEY, it's always about the money.

then why would our federal police/prosecution avenues NOT follow the law?
Because as a whole the government is broke. And many Americans that don’t see marijuana as dangerous don’t want to see scarce federal dollars go to something as trivial as waging a war on a substance that will undoubtedly be legal across the country in the next 10-20 years.

Marijuana addicts will literally die if they can't get their fix

That is federalism. We have a supremacy clause. The CSA is actually a correct use of commerce power. I don't like it, but acting like this is some kind of federal overreach is silly. There are plenty of examples of that garbage, though.

Marijuana should be legal. Liberals, like you, saying the above is comical, though. You don't believe what you wrote with any sort of conviction.
