People need to realize what this means:

The 10th Amendment reads:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

That means that if the federal government says that marijuana is illegal, the states can't come in and legalize marijuana.

If they start shutting down dispensaries in Colorado and California.. wow. Trump might literally become the most unpopular president, ever. And I hate using hyperbole, but that would shred whatever credibility he has outside of his voter base.

Good. Im all for sessions enforcing the law. Its his job. Marijuana is illegal and unless the law changes, it should be enforced to the fullest extent.

This is the only way to legally legalize MJ.

Having an unelected bureaucrat 'decree' it legal is an undemocratic usurpation of power.

while i don't agree with this, he does still hold the ultimate trump card (no pun intended)

do we have a federal law that outlaws possessing and distributing these substances? yes

then why would our federal police/prosecution avenues NOT follow the law?

if people want state-legal weed, then either (1) the federal laws need to be changed, not ignored and/or (2) we have to amend the constitution to re-work federalism entirely (which the DEMs would flip out over)

see this is even worse

because of this philosophical belief in creating infinite laws and then allowing the crown to pick and choose which laws it wants to enforce today, we, as citizenry, live in a constant state of uneasiness. now sessins doesn't even have the balls to make this his own policy and adds more uncertainty by leaving it to his USAs as mini-sovereigns who get to pick and choose sub-policies of his picking and choosing the law of today

this is all just fricked

anyone who is freaking out over this but isn't supporting a full scale back of our federal legal system is a hypocrite
