Just so we are clear here, the guy who coached TENNESSEE's God-awful secondary, who let Cleveland run wide open with no time left in the game and let Franks throw a 70 yard, not Hail Mary, but actual totally uncovered Post pattern is now coaching our DBs?? This guy??

They may soon surpass my disdain for Ole Miss fans. Just trash all around. The father specifically said a long time ago in the process he would not be hired away from AH as DB coach to simply get his son. He actually said if he went the college route his son would play elsewhere. He could have been one of the highest paid assistants in cfb had he chosen to go that route.

But why I personally have so much respect for that type of man. He is the head coach in one of the poorest areas, of one the most violent cities in America. Holding every one his players and even the students that were not his players every day is incredible without any results on the field. But they are one of the best hs teams year in and year out and they are extremely well coached.

The show 89 Blocks is awesome but they win off athleticism and talent alone because they can.

His son imo, is the best overall player in this class and the best CB recruit since Peterson. Starter day one, and will play the right way and is extremely smart.

Listed 6'2 182, he is a well built 185. Patrick Peterson played his draft season at 225. But guys like Claiborne, Simon, Brooks, Mills, and Collins all played 190 and under in their draft seasons.

NFL legends at the position have said he is the best they have seen at his age. Obviously with his dad being a pretty good coach, fundamentally for a hs CB he is pretty flawless. Reason I think day one he plays at a high SEC level, is his physicality and play at the LOS. Very few high school CB's understand and can play with physical SEC receivers.

225? Come on bro, that's heavey as frick. He's listed around 205 currently and likely played around that same weight at LSU. Possibly 210 at best. That's a big corner, but 225 is insane lmao.

Yeah that’s retarded. He didn’t play at 225

6’2 225 is humongous.

He must have Patrick Peterson mistaken for someone else. Pat P has never weighed 225 lbs much like played CB at 225 lbs. I have seen Pat. P in person he isn't that big.

I agree 100% with this part. I first heard of Surtain when he was a sophomore in high school. He was going to camps and straight shutting down 5 star senior WRs. Kid is ridiculously talented.

Pat was listed at 222 lbs heading into his last season at LSU, and was 219 at the combine. The 222 weight was a pretty big topic (no pun intended) on TD at the time. Then he went out and had that crazy 2010 season and no one cared (not that I cared at the time).

Scary that Bama has all these open spots left. They going to wreck somebody's class. Will NOT be ours. I think we have kids that want to be Tigers commited at this time. By that I mean some have been commited a long time. I know 18 year olds but so far not much drama.

Florida wanted a guarantee they could get his son, SR. said no you're not going to use my name to steal my son, so the result is this. Wanted his son to be his own man and choose where he wants to go. Don't think money is an issue with them anyway.

Oh yes he did play at a much higher weight than most CB. I recall somewhere around 220 pounds, and he was still fast as hell. Go check the roster in his Soph/Jr. year
