Jimbo has won a national title and almost 10+ games a season. What did people expect A&M to offer? Hell, Dan Mullen just signed on for $6million per year and he doesn't have a resume anywhere near Jimbo's.

He's the best coach on the market. He costs what he costs. I'd rather throw big money around on a big name than go discount shopping in the value bin

He still won’t be the highest paid coach.

Depends on the buyout. What happens in 5-6 years and he doesn’t win and A&M owes him $35 million

Its not, its just money.

LSU could afford it but we have a jackass running the show. We currently pay around 10 million to our football staff

7.5 isn’t crazy, but a 10 year guaranteed contract is insane.

That’s assuming that the contract really is 10 years, 7.5 mill

I don’t think the dollars per year is that crazy. The length is, and I am interested to see if the whole thing is guaranteed. Jimbo had a $40m buyout already on his current deal at FSU. He’s a top 5 coach in CFB now as far as resume and will be the third highest paid coach in the country

He costs whatever the market dictates.

It just shows A&M’s commitment to swing for the fences and go after their guy. Who knows? We may could have actually gotten him if Alleva wasn’t such a throbbing pussy.

Did I miss it where he signed? He had a 7+MM offed last season. 10 years? That’s stupid. Keep Home.

7.5 not that insane but fully guaranteeing it for 10 years is definitely a risk

It's only insane if instead you want to pay some fat loser $3.5m to let his coaches coach.

A very small percentage of people make $7.5M in their entire life.

Today 10 years and $7.5 mill sounds insane but in a few years it won't. The market for proven winners is already off the charts. When you should worry is when you pay a ton of guaranteed long term money to guys that haven't shown they can consistently win big, that's what we did with Sumlin.

The other issue is A&M has the resources to absorb it if it goes South in a few years.
