Arky not shopping from the same basket as those schools though

like I said, if I'm arkansas, it's gonna be a tough 12 months, but for long term progress, I would think it's better to get one of your top choices next year as opposed to getting a coach in their 3rd or 4th tier this year
Taking a chance on a guy who will bring life and energy back to the program is better than keeping a lame duck coach around for another miserable season.

i think most opposing fans are hoping bielema gets another year. face it the dudes a disaster and needs to be removed immeidately. delaying will only make things worse.

Lane is the one guy who could maybe break down the recruiting wall Arky has to deal with.
This is what I’m saying. Just one time I would like us to bring in a legit recruiter and let them have a go at it. If they can’t get it done from a recruiting perspective then we’ll truly know it will probably never happen and we’ll always need to focus on developmental coaches when hiring. I just want to try it out though so we know either way.

Our AD was fired because big money wants a change in the football Head Hog... Bert's done This move tells me they have a HC targeted with a deal in the works

approach gus, if he says no you gotta think they hire norvell fast.
IMO it will be one of these two...most likely being Norvell but I won't be surprised one bit if Gus returns to Arkansas

is Auburn unstable?
IIRC they have fired their last 3 coaches less than 2 years removed from an undefeated season. Gus was literally a loss away from the hot seat last week. It's honestly hard to quantify how irrational and volatile that fanbase can be.

no disrespect, but I'd be shocked if malzahn goes to arkansas. lower ceiling, not to mention he'd have less to work with
No doubt the two jobs aren't the same caliber. But Arkansas is home for him, and he knows his clock is ticking at Auburn.

I think Gus goes back to Arkansas. Assuming Bama wins the Iron Bowl, of course.

Gus is probably the one big name that MAY have legitimate interest, and that's only because his AD is stepping down. However, Auburn is very much in the mix for the SEC Championship and playoffs. I don't know if he wants to leave that situation to rebuild Ark.
If I'm Arkansas, I'm probably going after Chad Morris quickly before A&M gets down to him on their list. I'd suspect that A&M is a little gun-shy right now about going after a "spread" coach in light of the fact that their current guy, who runs that system, is about to get fired. Morris could be a good fit for Ark. because I think they will have to be a little "gimmicky" to compete in the SECW (Bieliema proved they can just beat SEC teams man for man) AND whoever is the coach at UA will need to recruit well out of state. Texas is a great place to do that.

The guys on the round table this morning (Birmingham sports show) had a UA reporter on talking Gus. He said the brass at UA want Malzahn, and will offer him the ability to input on the next AD. Paraphrasing of course.

Why are you queers riding the Gus bus? Want to further divide a state? Splitting this flagship like the Titanic.
Why aren't more people on the Lane train? I think you could get him at a reasonable price. Non compete clause big buyout on his part. Small buy out on our part and an amazing incentive laden contract.

Flashing on the Vegas strip will always be her back up plan.

Gus is a more proven HC than Lane. Some of us only care about what happens on the field.

3. Lane Kiffin
Please do this! I think Kiffin is in the same mold as Petrino and could have similar success at Arkansas. Plus the lulz he'd bring.
Although the decision makers at Arky might not want to roll the dice on a young/single/decent looking head coach with character concerns after the Petrino scandal. Joey Freshwater loves him some SEC sloots.

He would rub his dick on broken glass from the plains to the hill. He waited until we hired fatty McGee until he signed the original contract. Plus you get out of Saban's large shadow. Almost no talk unless you are pure crap that you'll be fired every week. Plus he can play with his snake charmer friend at the Cross Church.

What did Lane do? Take a sanctioned USC team and lead them out of it and still winning just not at the level they we're accustomed to when paying players? Get fired and the drunk comes in and gets them rolling with Lanes players.

Kiffin would be on top of my list if I was Arkansas.

So first off...frick you baw...
secondly, I haven't been a big fan of Gus but if you look at all the boxes to check, he probably ends up with the most.

I think I'd be a perfect fit for Leach
