Well as I said yesterday, you have to protect the plate with two strikes. Reese took an inside and low pitch for strike three. Too close to let go by.

Physically can’t get a bat on that ball where it was my dude.

Props to Coach O’Conn for protecting his player and getting thrown out of the game

Hell yeah. We’ve been home cooked for 37 fans all weekend, proud he got tossed. Umpires won’t do their job until forced, it’s beyond time for reviewable strike zones bare minimum. Hope this whole crew of clowns loses their jobs.

Don’t need a track guy telling me about baseball.

Yes. I agree. imo A&M and Auburn are the top two teams we’ve played this year. State is good too. All 3 will make noise in the postseason.

State is really missing our Friday night starter, he should start easing back next week and be ready for post season. We have a deep enough staff that we’ve managed but missing a Friday lock down has hurt. Also just a very deep roster that BOC is just now finding the pieces for, Bevis at 1B just happened last weekend and Wyers at SS tonight, both are massive improvements.
KJ Costello (MSST) 623 single game passing yards vs LSU. :rotflmao:

RIP Mike Leach and Bo Pelini.

I actually agree with Horns here. Does it kinda annoy me that AZ State is ranked? Yeah, but these polls don’t mean jack.

Yeah I mean it is what it is. We shouldn’t have gifted the game Saturday on like 3 different occasions. That being said, we’ve done more to be ranked than a fair many of ranked teams. 4-1 with a win over a ranked opponent is worthy.

Yeah i would call them co #1s. My bad.

Which is without question better for a RB. Their longevity directly correlates with number of carries, they are making a bad decision if they opt for more touches in college.
SEC is suffering from the Saban tree. That model dominated CFB for over a decade and is dead at the hands of the portal. Slow developing offenses are dying, you need a blueprint where 11 guys can come in and do well in year one. It’s unfortunate but that is the reality. You don’t have to go all the way there, but if you’re relying on more than 6-8 months for guys to learn the ropes you’re probably dead. Alabama unintentionally got a year head start, isn’t going to get easier for Georgia and Texas unless they adapt.

The SEC has fed that tree, and it can’t carry the load now. Need forward thinking programs to step up and it’s yet to be seen who those will be. Ohio State is probably about to dominate for a few years.

We will see if he can recover, but he quit coaching after the 2015 team and has been trying to rely on talent ever since. He hasn't worked for years. When he was hired at UK he said he didn't see himself coaching beyond 60. He should have retired after 2019.

Sadly this has happened to several great coaches in all sports over the last decade. The game has changed rapidly and not everyone moves with it. Same happened with the one and done change.

Arkansas is a bubble team. They never should've been ranked but their season isn't over because they've lost to three better teams.

You get a little rep bump when you hire the ghost of Ben Howland. Edit: John Calipari.

Are you saying the division is no longer bad?

Objectively it’s a little better at least? I actually hope this works, Arkansas hiring Bobo as HC next year is going to be glorious.

Could work out. Would keep in mind though that anyone on this board could probably average 35 PPG with Murray, Gurley, etc… in 2011-2014’s SEC East. The division was so bad Missou was winning titles.

We just lost to a fricking terrible basketball team.

Slightly less terrible than the Hogs though. GG.
Because every foul in like 10 minutes has been called on State. Feels like about 8 in the last 10 minutes.

That’s disrespectful to Malzahn.

Weird, I was just thinking he was doing incredibly well.
Well, you see these ridiculous names?

That’s how, that’s why the Guaranteed no hassle quiklane mortgage bowl exists.
I think you have to go big for the positions that have longevity and don’t command a lot of NIL, specifically OL.

Then you identify raw 4 stars at specific spots like ATH’s and WR. Sell them on playing early and developing so they command more NIL money in a year or two. If you lose them after 2 years that’s fine, it means they produced. The biggest earning potential for those guys isn’t going straight to a blue blood and maybe not getting good playing time for 3-4 years, it’s showing out early and hitting the portal as a proven commodity. Just have to make them buy into that.

The portal is there, have to use it instead of getting burned by it.
No tolerable person has ever had Kirby’s haircut.

Like he destroyed it when he hired Mike Leach?

Like when he passed over Johnnie Harris, your current HC, to hire McCrae Penson. Or when he passed over Butch, also your current HC, to hire Cannizzaro. He passed over Grantham, who may not have worked, to hire Moorhead who had less experience and certainly didn’t work.

Not knocking the decision to go outside, it’s the right decision more times than not. But when you have an obvious and qualified successor, passing over them to hire someone else’s assistant coach is generally not one of those times.

He got better with time I would argue, on our bill while he learned on the job. But those later hires were also risky PR hires (Leach and Jan’s), if more certain performance hires, because he knew he was running out of tarmac.
