But it has made other similar schools believe winning that lottery isn’t that hard

I think it’s improbable, but I also think it would be easier if we knew what we were.

Like Wisconsin switching to pass heavy from a big O line smash mouth.

I'm sure Chesney is a fine coach but I think part of the hype surrounding him is people hoping for the next Cignetti. He may do well but the chances of a coach being able to replicate Cignetti's results seems pretty small.

I think people are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle, but he has also won at every level.

Would require seriousness. Like hiring Bob Chesney that has won at every level.

Fixed your typo. Otherwise a solid post!

I think the problem is everyone not in the Athletic Department sees the sports as taking away from the school, instead of a great team increasing the enrollment of the classes leading to the funding of their departments.

I think most people forget that kids make up the loudness mostly, and kids have changed. Would rather sit at home, would rather be on their phones, etc..

This program is doomed. Why couldn’t I have been a fan of a college that brought enjoyment and accolades, like Alabama or LSU?

One program was irrelevant until a coach got there that knew how to work its magic and knew what kind of players to get and set up a system that 2 of the next 3 coaches used to get players and win championships.

The other was saved from a death spiral by the same coach.

All this goes back to the thread I made months ago. What kind of program are we? What is our identity?

That ship sailed when we started blaming interim coaches for the program's problems.

Let’s go back to the true problem, Yuracheck.

In Saban changed his defense to be smaller like that didn’t he? Shorter faster linebackers?

I remember the last time a coach attempted that shite here and failed.

I remember that sort of, who was it? Rhodes?
After watching it, everything I thought was true. He hired the first person he interviewed. The first person who reached out to him. Also what I believed, people didn’t trust Sam, so they never fully gave to the NIL.

You don't hire a guy who was fired at Auburn and replaced by a much much better DC. If they hire Roberts as the DC, and not as some analyst type, they're fricked. Roberts is a shite DC.

We did just that.

Thanks Sam for your commitment to laziness.

He saw Bielema get an extension being lazy as frick, and did the same.

Hopefully we are smart enough to track this stuff internally and use as a selling point when trying to retain guys.

Yes because 18-21 year old people are all rational that want to hear the less money more playing now will equal NFL tape.

And not you are the greatest, come to our great team, you are far better than our TE and we have bags of cash for you.

I may be in the minority but I think Archer is just a run of the mill QB.

Everyone thinks it will be the next Tyler Wilson. Or a Morgan brother.

Got in some kind of trouble, can’t remember what it was, stepped down from DC at Georgia to being an analyst.

Bad choice of player, but I’m sure there is more with Hasz, and other Ole Miss jumpers, or maybe it was all just money.

It’s pretty obvious our culture was AIDS.

Last two coaches couldn’t believe their retarded asses were given a lottery ticket that neither deserved. So they were just taking the money and running.

Both weren’t good at much of anything, this Silverfield has already signed a better OL class than the wizard Sam.

To be completely fair to the discussion you can't say the hire of Bielema was a bad hire. He had just come off winning the big ten, now it ended up poorly but the hire itself was a good hire at the time.

You can and I do. Wisconsin fans wanted him gone, he always lost games he wasn’t supposed to, costing them championships. No one except for Bo bought his escort wife being married for love.

It wasn’t a bad hire, it just wasn’t a good hire or actually trying. He wrote Jeff Long right after Bobby was fired, wanting the job but after the upcoming season. Jeff Long didn’t interview one damn person, just smugly sat on the Playoffs committee, (remind you of anyone?).
