I’m not impressed by the hire, but I think we could do way worse. It will all depend on if we actually get the NIL backing doesn’t matter how shite a coach is really when you have 1st round draft picks all over the lines and play makers in every position group.

I doubt that happens until we get rid of Hunter though.

Well hopefully Hunter is getting a better deal than they take 50% like last time.
This seems like a big waste, why couldn’t we have anyone of the money managers handling billions for the Walton’s, Hunts, Tyson, or Little Rock people do this.

The only positions that do not translate as well is offensive line and defensive line.

I could agree with this for the most part.

The problem with the offensive line is no one stays long enough to get totally in a system it seems.

Defensive line there is always outliers though like that Vanilla Gorilla dude that played for the cowboys after coming to us.

Pretty sure there's a middle ground in there somewhere.

BTW, weren't they very close to hiring that hot Molly chick and Hunter fumbled the ball on the 2 yard line?

Molly Miller? Arizona State?
I know this because I googled hot Molly women’s basketball coach.

Same thing I’ve wanted since 2021 a new AD. One that isn’t scared to make a big swing, and not just hire things that are within arms reach.

I think it’s absurd, but these recruits want to take all the pictures and look special, like it’s a wedding or prom.

Yeah I mean realistically we need next years team to be a touchdown better than this years team in order to get to 7-8 wins.

It wasn’t the touchdowns that we needed. It was the stops. We got none.

Maybe Hunter should have a talk with this guy instead of being a retard.

wasn't sure if I wanted him to be back....

Am I wrong?

He is a good running back, and I’m fine with him being back. I just don’t want to over pay for running backs. The NFL has proven you can get just about any back and have them gain 1000 yards or do it by committee if you have a good enough line. Buy lines first.

I think it’s improbable, but I also think it would be easier if we knew what we were.

Like Wisconsin switching to pass heavy from a big O line smash mouth.

I'm sure Chesney is a fine coach but I think part of the hype surrounding him is people hoping for the next Cignetti. He may do well but the chances of a coach being able to replicate Cignetti's results seems pretty small.

I think people are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle, but he has also won at every level.

Would require seriousness. Like hiring Bob Chesney that has won at every level.

I think the problem is everyone not in the Athletic Department sees the sports as taking away from the school, instead of a great team increasing the enrollment of the classes leading to the funding of their departments.

This program is doomed. Why couldn’t I have been a fan of a college that brought enjoyment and accolades, like Alabama or LSU?

One program was irrelevant until a coach got there that knew how to work its magic and knew what kind of players to get and set up a system that 2 of the next 3 coaches used to get players and win championships.

The other was saved from a death spiral by the same coach.

All this goes back to the thread I made months ago. What kind of program are we? What is our identity?
