Be a boss and skip the wedding itself and just show up at the reception

Message board people always act like weddings are rip-roaring bashes. Sipping a beer responsibly around relatives or my friends' parents (who already think I'm the trashy one) after a long church service never ends up being the orgy some people make it out to be. But maybe they are the trashy friends who just dont give a frick.

Because they're a bunch of plant baws that would rather go home to their fat wives, eat hamburger helper for dinner, slug mountain dews, and watch wrastlin than do fun shite.

My friends don’t suck so weddings are actually fun. Maybe you should find better friends.

So don't go, and buy them a bread maker.

What about the food? We're spending almost 4 grand on just the food for 100 people.

Grim, I agree with you 100%.

People will say "I love weddings because of the free beer", but frick that, I can afford to get my own beer without having to go to a wedding to "drink free".

The majority of weddings I have gone to have been Catholic weddings, which are even worse. You go to mass and the service, which is about an hour and ten mins.. Then you go to wherever the reception is. You have to wait there until the wedding party takes pictures at the church.. Then when they finally get to the reception, they have more pictures to take, do the wedding party dances.. Then finally, the DJ turns things up with the same wedding music dance songs..

I spend the whole time at a wedding trying to figure out the quickest way to be seen and get out.

You get hammered while all the family is there then party once they all leave

Jeez you people are miserable. Had a blast at a wedding a few weeks ago. Cat'lick wedding.

Fun if you are the age of the wedding party but seems terribly miserable if you are middle aged.

Eta: and unbelievably painful on your wallet if you are the dad of the bride

I don't think its as much social stuff as it is dealing with fake people. Weddings bring out a lot of fake people and it's easily noticeable. Watching that shite take place is the worst.

Especially when you have to pay for it.
