Etling missed two passes that should've been easy completions

Other than that, what did he do wrong? He's running for his life most of the night. Brennan is no more mobile than he is, so I don't get how that is a better option. You'd be trading out a ton of knowledge and experience for a QB that would again be running for his life and with the addition of not knowing where to go with the ball as well. If Narcisse was ready to play, I could see possibly going to him to give you a more mobile option. Otherwise, people need to get off Etling's back and hope the line keeps improving to give him a comfortable pocket to throw from.

Runs too soon 4 out of 5 times. Receivers probably weren't getting open anyway though, they were bad.

The miss downfield to Williams was really poor, and he could have had two interceptions.

Playaction to Williams and roll out to Moreau were the only significant misses I saw. Running for your life incompletions are not errors.

On the play that Sullivan missed, we had a wide open receiver down field behind him.

That third down play he had Williams again but ignored the easy read and almost threw a pick. That downfield miss to Williams was bad tho. Great play design just couldn't hit the throw.

The problem with Etling is that his aim and his arm is so limited that we cant run half the playbook. The last play of the game last week he underthrew two recievers by 5-10 yds and ball was intercepted. That was only a 25 yd throw...

He failed to see a wide open Williams and left the pocket too early several times.
But he is still our best chance to win now.

Stare down receivers and make his mind up where he’s throwing the ball before the ball is snapped

Plus Danielson commented on how he holds the ball too long. He also stares down his receivers.
Look, the guy couldn't play at Purdue. What more do you need to know?

He is scared to throw it. He has happy feet and doesn't move well in the pocket. He trusts his feet more than he should.
I'm not hating, but there are a lot of problems.

OMG can you not read all the threads answering this? HE MISSED READS ALL DAY WHEN HE HAD TIME!

Even Danielson commented that he wasn't going through full reads. He had a few clean pockets that he took off quickly from.

Stop before you further embarrass yourself. Did he play perfectly? No. Does he have Jamarcus Russell type of arm strength? No. But for you to flat out lie and say he can’t throw a 25 yard pass is complete BS.
Have you forgotten about the 50-60 yard plus (in the air) completions he’s had this year? Or are you just jumping on the “etling has a weak arm” bandwagon with the other handful of morons because it’s the cool thing to do.

I'm just happy he hit Carter for that wide open TD. If he missed that pass I would have had to shop for a new TV this morning.

He is a below average sec qb. There is no other way to look at it.

I like Etling a lot, but he is just not good enough to play behind a very bad LSU offensive line.

I can think of 3 that all would have been huge plays...TD to Williams, missing Gage in the left flat, and tight end crossing the middle
