Liberal zero tolerance ignorance at it's finest on display.

During just his third week of school, kindergartner Jackson Riley told his teacher at Great Valley Academy that he couldn't take off his backpack because there was a bomb inside and it would explode if he took the bag off.

I'm really not sure how I would have reacted if I was the teacher. That's such a weird thing to say, even for a 5 year old.

It sounds like little Jackson has been watching his Nazi daddy make bombs.

The teacher then asked the boy if she could look inside his backpack. After Jackson said yes, the teacher opened the bag and found nothing inside.
Jackson then received a one-day suspension
I get that nutjobs and their zero-tolerance policies want to abide by rules at all costs even when they don't make sense sometimes. But in a case like this, what in the absolute frick is the point of suspending? He's 5 years old, and after about 10 seconds the teacher realized there was no threat and there's no harm done. What exactly is their goal here?

Being consistent.
They arrest older kids for making false threats. Maybe he learned that it's not ok to do these things.

Yet a little muzzie can build a "clock" and get applauded and then get free shite.

Teacher was probably covering his arse, or so he thought.

Because 5 year old terrorists grow up to be teenage terrorists.
Remember Don Corleone's brother was killed as a kid so he didn't grow up to be a gangster.

Seriously. I'd be a little stunned. Suspending him is ridiculous. An investigation into where the hell he learned to say that might be warranted

At least he didn't bring a clock to school.

This
Got to be consistent. Hopefully he was talked to and understands the problem with lying.

It's really not. Do you remember when you were 5 years old?
When I was five, me and my friends owned armloads of nerf and other toy guns, played army, saved the world from alien invasions, disarmed bombs like macguyver, and pretended all other sorts of "dangerous" shite.
Maybe we should return to fricking common sense and let five-year-old boys be five-year-old boys instead of treating all of our nation's youth like they are potential terrorists who are about to shoot up the school.
Five years old. I mean, damn.
ETA: by the way, how should a teacher react? How about this...
"Oh, you have a bomb in your backpack? Well, let me just check and see" :checks backpack: "Oh, there's no bomb in there, see? Why don't you take your backpack off and take your seat."
