My family of four left Orleans Parish for higher ground a few months ago. I'm very happy with our decision. I will never move back.

My wife is a diehard NOLA for life
I want to GTFO
But she wants 3 kids and I am more than happy at 2
I honestly am thinking about compromising to have 3 if we move, as that will actually save us money because we will get better fricking housing and free schools

Some of the problems are starting to creep onto the Northshore. Still have good schools. It just seems to be an impressive amount of incompetence and corruption in the region in general.

People shite on kenner, but our streets are taken care of, our water and sewage works and the police have a three minute response time.

I know I am trashing where I live, but go drive around the suburb cities around the south and just look at how nice and put together everything is. JP is just an eye sore

If you live in Lakewood, or lakeview or English turn yeah, no hoodrats. Anywhere else even the best areas have issues.
