the same people that voted for this, probably wouldn't be voting "yes" if they lived on a border town
We underestimate the stupidity of a progressive at our own peril.
An individual who is "progressive" about illegal immigration in a Mid-Atlantic college town, may not be as "progressive" about that issue if they lived and had lived most of their life in a Texas border town.

How will this town and others who also allow non-citizens to vote in local elections going to prevent said illegal aliens from voting in statewide and national elections?
I've been voting since 1980, and local elections are always included on the same ballot as statewide and national elections.
What is to stop any illegal from casting votes in those elections? Serious question.

Later into the meeting, a council member proposed a new amendment that would only allow green card holders to vote and exclude undocumented immigrants. However, the vote on the green card amendment failed.
i'm sorry

I understood the poster's inference. You may both be right on that count. However, I'm not sold on a progressive's ability to discern liberal agenda from self inflicted diminishment.

We should just let the entire planet vote on our elections. We are all citizens of the world after all.
Posted on 9/13/17 at 10:10 am to Centinel
They just allowed anyone to vote with this resolution. They do not require voter id so how are they going to police these non citizens voting in national elections? It's a farce. These same people will be voting in all elections. If you can't see that then you're not using your head.

White liberals are determined to have a brown majority ASAP - it's as simple as that.

I was just stating I take a more libertarian view on it when its not affecting my municipality or country as a whole directly. If thats how that community wants to do it, then so be it.

You are absolutely right to be cynical of progressives.
Progressives would stab themselves in both eyes in order to be lead by minorities. They are very enlightened that way.

This will be challenged with quickness.

It can be challenged, but unfortunately it's perfectly legal according to Maryland state laws.
States make their own voting regulations.

Unlikely this could ever be applied to federal elections,

This would be funny if it weren't so sad.

I think it's scary and incredibly regressive that liberals in general care about who the racial majority or minority is. Strong safety has directly stated as much on here. He's focused on skin color divisions and how to win their imagined war of skin colors and sees this as some sort of honorable goal. I have no idea how society is benefited by the constant division according to skin color. Do brown people not frick over other brown people or something? I know other white people have fricked over other white people many times.
It's a completely backwards and arbitrary goal that leads to nowhere but making people unnecessarily conscious of skin color. There's literally nothing to gain for anyone in this world view. It's as if the whole group is bored. I equate the whole idea to a rich man who typically wears a green shirt everyday deciding that tomorrow he'll wear a blue shirt. So fricking what?

No one would ever know because it is racist to ask.
The right will never learn how to stop the left because they get too busy in giving attention to their false narratives.

Thanks for explaining. In your opinion, this governing body wants to signal that they are nice people, and that's their primary goal and their vision for that governing body to which they belong -- be nice people and be seen as nice people.
I think it's more purposeful than that, but, that's just me. I think that they are being ideological.

Exactly.
We are to believe that this governing body is not acting out of Leftist ideology, and that the worst that can be said of them is that they are guilty of excessive virtue signalling.
We need more people to begin to understand the nature of this struggle between ideologies.
