Why would any governing entity in the USA want people who are not US citizens voting in US elections?

Why would they want that?

Progessives have lost complete touch with reality.

So the reason is that they are simply misguided nice people?

They want to be nice, so they want people from other countries voting in the USA? Is that the reason, in your humble opinion?

This is the sixth town in Maryland to approve illegals voting.

I did not know that. I do now. So given that Maryland has opened the door to non-USA citizens voting will the state now become a magnet to attract foreigners who realize they can determine the outcome of local and national elections? Have any other states (or cities) granted voting rights to non-USA citizens?

IMO the entire election system, nationwide, is compromised. Pure and simple.

It is virtue signaling in its purest form.

They can't see beyond their own immediate self-righteousness.

Trump's presidency has sure brought out the true nature of where our Democratic Party wants our nation to go.

the rationale is that the non-citizens live in the town and are affected by the decisions of local elections, therefore they should have a voice

where the argument goes past that, I have no idea

they will probably bring up the fact that citizenship for voting is actually a modern thing, as citizenship was not a requirement back in the 1800s for most states

For local elections.

While i dont want that in my local elections. I don't feel the need to tell a community in another state how to handle their local voting.

Now. You wanna try to let them vote on national issues, GTFO.

True, just a political board and a political topic of interest.

Yeah, while I suppose theoretically you could set up the voting apparatus whereby certain individuals would ONLY be able to vote in LOCAL elections, it seems like it would be rather difficult to police and insure they don't step outside the bounds of that, when many elections involve local/state/national candidates on the same ballots.
