It's truly amazing a major program can not find a kicker to kick every kickoff into the end zone.
I hate CFB kickers. Yes, hate.

Don't want to be anti-Miles, but we are talking about the difference between the two:

Miles either lost or never had (and it was masked) the ability to self-critique. I don't mean himself as a person, I mean the team and it's performance. He did not have the ability to look at a positive performance, e.g. an ugly win, and see the to-do list of things to focus on. He could only focus on the things he believed got him that positive result. Hence the inability to evolve.

As for CEO...
he hasn't proved that he is a HC that does that either. I see hints of it, but yet still unproven. He's close to in my mind; but it will take a trip to SECCG to really prove it. That is one good thing about his tenure at OM. That shitty performance there is the stand-out thing on his resume. If he lacks the ability to be self-critical, that would have been pretty much the end of his career in FBS football. So several people think he's self-critical enough to change himself at a minimum; if that translates to a team, that will be the big difference between him and Miles.

It's almost like the alcholic/drug addict cliche, you have to hit rock bottom before you can climb up. Miles never hit that bottom, ever. The status quo was fine. CEO is the opposite, he was a frickup. So are we, LSU, going to be the eventual beneficiary? TBD, but I like the signs.

He's a politician.
He has zero original thought. He's all cliches and good ole baw stories.
He's on his 3rd "dream job" except with this one it's a recent dream.
He's a fan favorite based on identity politics , which only adds to my overall dislike.
He played the fans and the media with the help of his little fat friend.
This dude is a fraud. He's not genuine.

There is a reason Edwin Edwards was elected 4 times in this state.

I am , dude ...I freely admit it.

The hypocrisy of the fanbase drives me nuts.

I am very much a fan of Aranda and Canada , however. So, I'll survive. The folks at my tailgate enjoy when I go off on some alcohol fueled rant , so they are perfectly happy with my state of triggerization and rustlednestess.

I'm not meaning for this to be an Anti-Miles thread....honestly. Just pointing out something that I think will be a big positive for us going forward.

I believe the plan is to kick it high and deep...close to the goal line and have coverage team keep them pinned inside the 20. Touch backs come out to the 25. Risk/reward scenario.

I thought so too, but Orgeron said they want the ball kicked out of the end zone.

was very honest about how disappointed he was with the kick offs and that the competition has been opened back up.

I love the ACCOUNTABILITY! Do you job or sit.

It's going to be like USC. Everything is a competition. You win a job, you still have to work or you will lose it. It will be fast and fun but nobody's job will be totally safe from week to week.

The NFL doesn't have kickers that put it in the endzone every single time :/

I agree. Let the hatred for Miles go! He did a great job for us, but he simply stayed too long! It happens! I wish O the best and I hope he's the guy to lead us to another NC, but it's time to let the Miles hate go!

For 5 years LSU ran rt at bamas brick wall without success. What does Orgeron do? The same fricking thing.

I don't remember Miles publicly stating that he was re-opening up a position competition after a game. Do you have examples of when Miles did this?

I also don't really remember times where I thought Miles threw a player under the bus, either. But I've been fairly disenfranchised with the program lately, so I probably just missed it.

There's certainly a distinction to be made between holding players accountable and deflecting responsibility/throwing guys under the bus, but I'm not smart enough to define that across the board.

In this particular case, I like it and it feels refreshing.

No, Orgeron actually did something different. He hired a different offensive coordinator.

I understand though, you like to cry about the past and knock CEO every chance you get. Even his fourth game on the job with CLM's coaching holdovers. How the hell couldn't Eaux and Ensminger totally revamp the LSU offense in four weeks during the season? Unexplainable.

Do you for some weird reason think LSU is going to trot out the same offense against Alabama this year as last?

I like how it's portrayed that some fans need to get over Miles being gone and get behind the current regime, yet it's the people that hate Miles that keep bringing him up.
