Circus clowns? That'd be an upgrade.

They're arse clowns.

Circus clowns will probably hunt and kill you and your wife down for this comparison.

Pittsburgh is definitely going in the right direction. Oil&gas, healthcare, tech companies, and banking are revitalizing the city. It's not a dirty, grungy steel town like I had envisioned. I moved here about 1.5 years ago and I hope to never leave. Will be done building my first house in November. This is a great area.

Preach.

Once you travel to a few other legit cities (Austin, Denver, Nashville, SLC for example), you realize how big a shithole New Orleans (and Baton Rouge) is.

Is the city's finances still under control of the state since the couldn't handle it themselves and went governments version of bankrupt?

I don't live there and likely never will but visit family in Nola once a month. My wife and I still take a few hrs to ourself every time to enjoy the city. As a visitor, I don't see many changes and don't feel unsafe when I'm there. I feel like Nola has always been like every other city in terms of safety. Stay ouT of the hood (every city has them) and your in good shape. I think that shite will happen any and everywhere because of the larger amounts of people who inhabit urban areas. I still love New Orleans and appreciate it for the unique city that it is

No way. Literally every inch of the city is a shithole. Haven't you heard?

They must have hid the outrageous number of homeless people there just for you.

The only purpose New Orleans serves at this point is the occasional visit (more rare than ever due to all the bullshite) and more importantly keeping the culcha in NO and not flocking elsewhere. So in a way I'm glad it's there.

I ask that question all the time. crime ridden, corruption at all govt levels (which is really true everywhere), and the constant flooding threat.

People vomiting and pissing all over the place,

NOLA is a legitimate dump that only lifelong locals defend.

I lived in Boulder for a decade.Dont expect the Nola Suicide corps to face the fact that they live in a catastrophically failing city or to ever factor in quality of life. They have been conditioned to think it's normal. If you don't have family or a business, you should get the hell out and move somewhere where the vast majority of people are winning- like Denver. While you still can.

Should have moved to St. Charles or St. Tammany and drove into town for work.

Da hood is slowly taking over the city.

Staying out of Mitch's city is my way of staying out of da hood.

Statues don't bother me.

What bothers me is the process by which they were removed led by the mayor and the number of thugs/fools/idiots that showed up to see that it was done.

A clear indication of the underbelly of another democrat run city on the decline.
