To be fair its a state tax free weekend, and other local shops are discounting the local taxes as well.

Just don't ask them to put on a scope when you buy it tax free.
REALLY don't bring it back ask them to adjust the scope they put on crooked.
DEFINITELY don't bring it back again and ask them to bore sight the scope for you because you went through two boxes of bullets to try and get on the paper when it was supposed to be bore sighted already.
Never again with them. Totally incompetent people in the gun department. Took it to precision and I was sighted in and scope mounted correctly in 10 minutes.

I find them to all be relatively knowledgeable and nice in the gun department. I have however had to re-attach my scope both times I had them mount it. And have had issues with the arrows they have made for me in the past. I have had to have all of them refletched and the nocks pulled and re-glued. BUT everyone else I know that has had them build arrows for them have had no problems at all. so

This is totally on YOU
Anyone that shoots 40x and can't find the paper needs to hang it up and pick up something like golf

I kind of agree with this. Bore sighting is not a magical on target deal and I don't see a need for it especially with new scopes. It should get you on paper at 50yds, but if not move the target in until you can find where its hitting. Come to think of it, by no means a respectable sample size, but of maybe two or three rifles I've had bore sighted way in the past I don't think any of them printed on the first shot. If you can't find paper with 40 shots you need to change your process.

spillway sportsman too...

The Sales Tax Holiday this year is really only a reduction if the 5% sales tax to 3%.
Is Bowie (or Spillway) picking up the tab on the other 3% or the parish amount?

Bowie's sign says they are refunding the full 10% sales tax.
