Because he will be an easy fire if it don't work out. They obviously could not get Jimbo to leave Fla. St and Herman was a back up plan they would go with for the right price and would not over pay for him and I don't blame them. Jimbo is who they really wanted and I think that is evident. Id rather see coach O than Herman coaching the tigers, the assistant staff is stronger than it's ever been in a long time and I and I think coach O will be a better decision maker since the game obviously passed les by. So in that sense we did upgrade overall

Don't count on that.

i'll give O a chance. im pulling for him to be here a while. that would mean success for the program. that being said, F BOBBY JINDAHL, F KING, ALLEVA, AND THOSE ESPN PUNDITS for prolonging the inevitable. we had jimbo. we kept miles on life support when he was already "brain dead". we knew the plug would be pulled sooner than later. 4 qtrs. into 2016 and he shite down his leg. biggest debacle since blowing off spurrier in 87.

I'm not sure about this at ALL. I mean, the CheeriOs worship everything he does and have built up excuse after excuse to prop him up, no matter the truth.

There will be a huge contingent to keep him unless he fails miserably.

But overall, great philosophy.

I'm sure you do, but its not based on anything from a coaching perspective.

If O fails then Alleva will get fired and it will be easier to fire ad hire and new head coach with a new AD coming in.

If Orgeron was from Kalamazoo instead of down the bayou, Louisiana, would you feel the same way about him? What in his record qualifies him to lead an elite program like LSU? I hope he succeeds, but for a program like LSU to hire a defensive line coach who had moderate success as an interm HC and negative success as a full time HC is irresponsible. I hoped for Alleva to be fired before after he botched the hire of a National Champion coach in Jimbo Fisher, but now that he's hired Orgeron, he had better pray to whoever he prays to that Ed makes it work.

LSU went with O...because Alleva is a cuck.

We were the first open job in the season and couldn't get anyone. Alleva is a laughing stock

It amazes me how quick some of you so called fans want to see someone fail just because you couldn't get a coach that was never going to leave Florida State in the first place. No doubt you'll never be happy with any coach if they actually lose a game. I'm sure you are perfect in everything you do.

I hope he prospers and makes everyone eat a bag of dicks but that still don't change the fact that they went with someone who would be on a short leash if he dont produce.

Look at the payout provisions of The Orgeron's contract and tell me how easy and inexpensive it will be to terminate him.
Not as much has been said about the terms of DaCoacho's contract as the decision to hire him, but the contract terms are terrible, as well.

It would also be an admittance that you screwed up on the hire.

O isn't going to be a decision maker.

We basically got A Les Miles who doesn't handcuff the offense.

So that's good.

No they didn't. This is completed BS and revisionist history.

LSU hired CEO because we already had Aranda locked up and there was a strong possibility of bringing in Lane Kiffin. And, if the LK hire didn't work out then the idea of CEO hiring a solid OC was just as good as bringing in any of the other available head coaching options.

The problem with that is, exactly what you said.

We hired ____ because we wanted ____ at coordinators.
Hot coordinators don't stay put, they take HC jobs. Aranda might be a HC by 2019, Canada might not be too far behind, and then the "reasons" you hired O will be gone- but we'd still be stuck with O.

Correct - but they definitely need to fire Aleva first once its clear that O is not the guy, which I think we'll know for sure about half way thru the season of '18. They should go ahead and fire Aleva at that point, get new AD before start of '18 and have new AD fire O after the '18 season. Its a shame that 3 seasons will need to be wasted but that is the price that will be paid for this blunder.
