re: Clemson Starting DT Suspended

Is he a starter or expected to be?

He barely recorded any stats last year.

Hurts Clemson depth either way.

Anyone know when Charlie Weiss is supposed to do his?
No one saying anything that I have heard.

Ruffino hinted it was NOT a season ending severity situation but stopped short of saying anything concrete.
Had not seen this - made me laugh.

Has and will age like fine wine.

McKinley is listed at 6’6” on the LSU website. Pad level is no doubt a major issue. I have not studied him much but imagine wasted/ineffective first steps really hinder a guy that tall.

Kind of reminds me of Maason Smith recently. Another huge body guy that never seemed to take over and dominate with that size advantage.
I think you are closest to the truth with this take. I expect the same thing is being done with putting Thomas out there over Cooley at safety.

Sending a message to your older guys that they need to step it up; don’t get complacent because no one is guaranteed a job.
Nailed it. Between Peoples, Orgeron and Lucas + Baker; I wonder who has the most influence on starting rotation.

Really only McKinley has experience in Baker’s scheme, but I don’t think that matters much for a defensive tackle.

Thought McKinley would have developed into a stud by now. I think Blocton and Green will play a lot.
Agreed! Hope they stay healthy and make life miserable for opposing QBs.

Everyone talks about pass rush coming from the edge, but interior pressure A/B gap up the middle between either guard and center is QB worst nightmare. Can’t step up into the pocket. Ruins passing game timing.
Both true freshman starting at interior defensive line at the start of practice #2.

Overreactions only please.

Malik Blocton and Stephiylan Green second team.

Dominik McKinley and Brandon Brown third.
You been asking for updates on recruiting board and now started this post at 2 in the morning…

Bruh do yall even trust the process ever so slightly? Do we need to continue to question and micro-analyze every tweet and underwear choice of the 2027 recruits?

I don’t know man, do you?
If I’m an idiot I guess that makes letting you post here a red-cross / make-a-wish situation.

How much of a tax write off does the site get for letting you interact with us?
He “took over “ a game where he needed a last minute deep pass and overtime to squeak out a win?

How did the team wind up in a position to need those heroics if he “took over”? I recall him being pretty pedestrian in that game prior to the last 2 drives.
Not trying to hate on a guy who was all LSU for 5 years.

I don’t have memories of him “taking over” a game like I expect “Elite” players to do.

Not saying he didn’t play well or didn’t have great games but I don’t think of him as having a “killer” instinct.

Best position group to add some depth.
Not having to use timeouts multiple times each game because we cannot get the offensive play call in on time or screwed up personnel substitutions.
I had too much Raising Canes and am experiencing my own “fluid situation” since…

Canes?

As long as it is Raising and not Hurri…

Yeah I know he should have stfu but Landry is absolutely trying to help LSU as much as he can.

Only because he involved himself and tied his political future to the success of the program. If they fell flat on the coach hire and suffered next year everyone would have blamed him.

But hey; I’ll take the win either way. Glad it benefited the program I love at the end of the day. But still bad politics on the Governors part (IMO).

Nah.

Combination of Woodward holding the purse strings too tight for the first couple years and coupled with the fact that some of the bigger boosters didn’t support Scott or Brian.

Allegedly when Landry stepped in it a bit at the start of this thing he then had to lobby some of the oil and political machine behind it so there is more money/support than there has been in years.

What year is it?
