How book Meereen will be like the show:
1. Dany arrives in their hour of need to turn the tide.
2. Dragons wreck the invading fleet.
3. Dothraki hoard wipes out the invading ground forces.

How book Meereen will be different from the show:
1. Victarion will deliver the Iron Fleet to Dany.
2. Jorah will regain Dany's grace in the Battle for Meereen.
3. Barristan will die a hero's death.

I can see that.

In the books, yes there is Val. But she's not in the show.

Outside of Dany, Sansa, and Arya, there really aren't many women left of a similar age with him that we already know as characters. And no way that Jon gets with any Sand Skank and Yara is a lesbian. So that leaves the three I mentioned...and I still think Arya, if she gets with anyone, will be with Gendry.

I don't see Jon falling for someone like Dany though. Jon likes women with a bit of spice to them, something Dany completely lacks.
So her imperviousness to fire, winning over Dothraki blood riders, giving birth to dragons, cleverly dealing with slavers and engineering their deaths while acquiring an army without having to resort to slavery and her legendary bed riding skills don't give her enough "spice" for your tastes? You must be one hell of a man, Toddy.

BTW, the list of women Jon has been with is precisely 1 name long. I don't think that suffices to establish a pattern of preference.

Well, they kind of threw us a bone and gave her to us with the super hot Swedish girl from the singing chick flick. Kinda.

But the lack of Strong Belwas is public place slap-worthy, like if I see D or D in an airport somewhere.

Yeah, the book and show haven't exactly been subtle with that one. I'm surprised that he's not with the BwB on the show.

I meant from a legitimacy standpoint if Rhaegar and Lyanna didn't marry.
The Kingsguard being at the TOJ instead of Dragonstone protecting Viserys seems to hint that they did.

so Sansa? first cousin or Aunt

Keep in mind that GRRM had originally wanted to have Jon and Arya love trist (and with Tyrion thrown in). I'm not saying GRRM is going to have a Jon/Sansa hookup (I very seriously doubt he does), but it won't happen because of a brother/sister/first cousins dynamic.

I'm hoping Barristan dies in Valyria defending Dany by fighting some monstrous abomination.

I'm just saying her personality isn't all that attractive to Jon. Dany is a know-it-all, doesn't have any spunk to her, and is pretty boring of a person overall. Dany as a character is almost solely defined by her looks. I can't say the same for Jaime or Cersei.

We get into his head in the books, so we have a good idea what qualities in women he finds attractive. Save for her natural beauty, Dany has none of these things.

When GRRM originally pitched his book series idea to the publishers, it was originally going to have some weird Jon/Arya/Tyrion love triangle thing going on.

While that wouldn't surprise me at all, I'm going to pretend that isn't true

He's never even met her, and I don't think you can claim to have any insight on what a fictional character is attracted to based on his described attraction to one woman.
quote:

Dany is a know-it-all, doesn't have any spunk to her
Now you're just making shite up because you don't like her character. It's okay if you don't like her. No one is putting a gun to your head, but don't act like your opinion is undisputed fact. We know a hell of a lot more about Dany's personality than we ever will about Ygritte's.

And who says he even has to be attracted to her. They could marry each other to unite the kingdoms, or maybe they both die. We have no idea.

I have a feeling you're going to be bitching your arse off when this story is concluded. The story could never possibly resolve itself to your meticulous, specific personal satisfaction.

Jon falls in love with Dany, Dany dies tragically, and Sansa has to step in as Queen to reunite the North and the South, making her essentially fill the role of Cercei, who was the Kings second choice

Dany is also one of the few powerful people with some sort of moral compass. She's also convinced a bunch of warriors--some of whom are terrified of water--to travel across the seas to fight for her on a foreign continent. Not to mention, she's gained the respect of Tyrion, one of the smartest and wittiest characters.

So in the end we have an attractive, persuasive, just and powerful leader--who happens to have a few dragons (awesome) that she birthed. She may be annoying and a know it all at times, and the besides the possible relatives thing, which could/should be a dealbreaker, Jon is not going to do much better.

She can't have babies. That's a deal-breaker.
