When you plug in the car each time to recharge the battery where do you think the electricity comes from? How much CO2 was made in generating the electricity.

I mean, I know they say it's a zero emission vehicle in terms of not releasing hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. I assumed people realize that doesn't have anything to do with CO2. I mean just about everything we do releases some CO2.

However, I should probably never again make the claim that no one thinks (any point of view about anything).

Have you also calculated the loss extending from Exxon and BP, and normalized the data from there?

Wait... are you saying producing, using, and then disposing of massive amounts of battery acid and lead are bad for the environment? That's crazy talk.

Tesla cars are like if a Prius and a Miata had a baby!

How is that comparable to the carbon foot print of producing a gas powered vehicle?

That statement - while shocking - means nothing with out a comparison to the standard.

Fallacy

yet my tesla produces zero emissions and claims to be able to reach 1 MILLION miles.

So compare both the production and ownership pollution of your typical car.

Whoops, this thread is now pointless.

I'm sorry you are clearly not lucky enough to have been in the presence of one.

Really, I am.

Yea, I'm certainly out of my league on this topic, but that was my 1st thought as well.

Coincidence that this news comes out after the Musk made fun of a republican president who loves coal and oil.

Also chemtrails.

And colonialism.

they've said this about Prius cars for years that the manufacturing of them are very rough on pollution. I assume it is due to the batteries.

The EVs at my job plug up at the solar carport. I get 24 miles of charge while I'm at work, round trip of 12 miles each day. Works for me.

The people I know who drive Teslas don't do so because they give a crap about the carbon footprint. They do it because the cars are bad arse.

That's why I drive a 75D but I have to admit, I haven't bought gas in 2 years and that part is pretty awesome.

Wife (no pics) commutes 140 miles RT each day. I commute 48 miles RT

Getting the wife an EV especially a Tesla with autopilot would improve her situation immensely
